So I gotta help Sapperfire remove and replace his K-member this weekend. And by help I meen supervise. :D

Anyway, looking for pointers on hows the best way to hold the engine up if you are doing it in a car port and on the ground. No cherry picker or engine hoist, no overhead support to mount a come-along/chain setup. Just have to brace the engine and hold it in place.
Open for suggestions. :)

The "best way" is to buy or rent an engine support bar.

Wonder where I can rent one. Guess I gotta call around.

Worst case is a 4x4 cut to fit and a 2" ratchet strap.

Jeremy, go to Harbor and buy one. Be safe, not sorry. If you are under there and the board breaks and the engine cuts you open then your ass is sitting there and waiting for the amber lamps cause no way I am putting you in my Lite Graphite interior!

thats why they make trashbags, to catch the blood, they call em "Glad" for a reason, im buying one tomorrow, i have a gift card for HF with $40 on it, im using 2 2x4 as back-up thou, i dont trust HF really
has anyone switched the K-m e m b e r in one of these before? when i removed the one from the salvage car, one of the nuts inside the frame was spinning with the bolt ( the one inside the right strut tower, so i had to cut the bolt with a hack-saw
is there a way to get a socket in there or any pointers?

Have the guy at the boneyard blow it off with the hot wrench, you might have to toss him 20 but worth it IMHO

Ok from the pic looks simple to make, headin to the metal yard first thing in the morning, buildig the brace, then I have to stick another ac compressor in it or I may not make it to your house
