so i guess the real question is why dont you have a new sig pic??
I don't see a 275 tire even coming CLOSE to fitting without rubbing big time in the rear if I were to hit a bump or if the car was lowered, it's close as it is with 245 wide tires, I'm thinking I could get away with a 255 but that's max. What is the backspacing on your Cobra Rs? I'm not sure what these are but I'd assume all of the aftermarket cobra replicas as well as the speedstars are the same offset, most of them are 9" wide. And I have noticed today that when I back out of my driveway with the wheels turned all the way one way, something rubs slightly, not sure if it is the tire or the rim..but there's no marks from the rim touching the front spindle. When i look under there nothing else is even close to touching anything..so I'm not too worried about it.
Which part of the upper control arm did you have to clearance to make the rims fit?
Take a look at the 2nd picture very closely. That's where your rubbing is happening. it's the inner edge of your wheel.

Yeah, when I first put them on when the car was still jacked up I noticed that area was very close, that is the spindle i thought (verticle part that attaches to the hub assembly)? Why is everyone calling that the upper control arm?? Anyways, yeah it sounds like mine is doing exactly what yours did, rubs slightly when in reverse with wheels turned all the way in one direction, I didn't notice any rubbing while driving forward with wheels turned however..there must be some play in one or more bushings. I saw you just did a bunch of front end work, what all did you replace this time around?
Car looks great Kevin, better hide the keys you might find the Mustang in its spot in the morning

FWIW, I run 245's in the front (18x9) with plenty of room left
and 275/45 in the rear (18x10) with plenty of room for more tire
No trimming, no cutting, no rubbing with +40 offset in the rear on both air and coils with NEW rear shocks
Lowering it a little shouldnt be a problem either, still enough room back there for me if it helps with anyone picking tire size ive never once rubbed and have a feeling a 295+ would fit...ill be finding out soon when i get my drag radials installed.. :shifty:![]()

17x9s with 275/40 tires. lowered pretty much all the way.
if you look close, you can see there is still gap between the tire and fender.
normal ride height is just below stock and i never rub. will probably go 285 or wider next time.
oh. 26mm offset.

lol well you can thank my camera phone for sucking all the color out of most of the photos I take..the signature pic was taken with a cannon powershot digital camera, which explains the vibrant colors. Depending on the angle of the sun it does make it look totally different colors, afternoon sun is my fav tho.
