Well this weekend I was at my usual stomping ground, my local Pick-A-Part. To my surprise this day, there was a 2001 Lincoln Continental in there, and to make things better, somebody did all the work for me and took the motor out and left it on the ground in front of the car. :D So to my surprise, "C" heads were staring at me. Luckily I keep a tool bag in the truck. :p

As for intake a person would most likely run the cobra or mach 1 counterpart

man talk about being in the right place at the right time, how often does a job that sucky, just fall right in front of you lol, nice find greg.

I took the cam girdles, cams and rollers off. The valves look ok. Is it ok to put the head with the springs and valves still attached into my parts washer at work tomorrow?

how did you like breaking them bastard 15 mm head bolts loose lol! those are :q:q:q:qers to break loose, even my big ass impact gun has a hard time, sometimes i have to help it out with a breaker bar and 5 foot pipe first. elliot, c head intake valves???? wtf lol! 99 + all c-heads.

Wish I would have known you were going to the JY. I need a second gen ash tray in the worst way.

Man those head bolts were a MF to get off. At first I went up there with my cordless impact gun, and it had no affect. I ran out of time and had to return yesterday with a breaker bar and cheater pipe to get it loose.

Just an FYI. 99 thru 02 "C" heads are of the tumble port design. 03 up "C" heads are of the swirl port design. Also, they have a slightly larger exhaust port.

Greg, I seriously hope you marked those cam retainers, because they have to go back in the exact same position they came out of. The retainers are installed and then machined from the factory.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is with the C-Heads over Mark stockers?

IF you notice; the "C" heads have a single intake port, while the "B" heads have 2 divided intake ports. The later head is a better design, which does not need IMRC plates to block off the second port. IT's a better choice, for N/A applications. There are a few Positive displacement superchargers for B heads, but not many.

That's why I have a guy to take care of this stuff for me . I just buy the groceries, I don't cook the food.
