jlt cold air intake for 97-98?

I was looking at the jlt site and was wondering if the 99 cobra kit would work
with a 97-98 mark8

Unless you have a cobra intake i dont think it would work

The 99 cobra has a straight 90 degree. Throttle. Body like ours. That's why i thought it would. Work.

that is true, i was thinking about the 96-98 cobra intake.

I went to JLT's shop in Chesapeake, VA, back in 2005 or 2006 and talked to Jay (the owner) about trying to rig something up for the Mark VIII. After looking at it and comparing, we decided that the 99/01 kit they have wouldn't fit due to the tight bend at the shock tower and the AC lines that go by there. He also didn't think it would give much benefit due to the large size of the intake pipe.

What he did do was sell me a MAF adapter plate (to mount a cone filter to the MAF sensor) and a filter. We cut off a piece of rubber sewer pipe coupling to fill the gap between the MAF sensor and the intake tube and that was it.

These are the specific products that he sold me, but he gave me a pretty good discount since he didn't have to pay for shipping. I think prices were probably cheaper back then also...
