actually with the spray in liners that i use, if the scratch is down to bare metal it needs primed before you put the liner in

Ah, my bad. Didnt realize the DIY versions were different from the professional stuff. I had it done a few times using Rhino and Aloha bed liners and they didnt care if there were scratches. Then again they are also $500. For the cost savings I guess a little primer is well worth it! :lol:

Is it the roll on one or spray one you use?

I use a professional kit. SEM pro-tex, they have a lifetime warranty and run about $500 as well. They are a 2 part catalyzed kit. Any bare metal needs to be sprayed with an etching primer, which can react to the hardener in the bed liner which is why you have to prime over a bare metal scratch. Some bed liners are different, and some shops skip steps.

If i was to buy into a franchise i would use the line x. I think they are about the best out there right now. They mix in the wand as you spray them and are set up in 3-5 min.
