Jamie, I know Rich & I would probably be headed this weekend to your neck of the woods & GOD KNOWS MY CAR NEEDS IT but I was just handed the keys to this........

Anyway, I live right next door to the right where the grey tarp is... Infact, the house you see in my signature picture to the left with the big @ss tree is the same house. My Mark currently sits under that tarp. Anyway I'm doing a rent to own deal! The owner is a huge friend of the family & he is offering the house to me dirt cheap. Him & his wife live up in Jacksonville, they are both in their 70's, retired, filthy rich & he doesnt need this house anymore. I will be paying $900.00 p/m for a 3 bed/2bath (completely remodeled) home with a huge back yard. I now have a place to put my Mark VIII & tear it apart without it looking like crap out front!

So why did i craete a thread about something that has NOTHING to do with a Mark VIII?????

My girl has no idea I got the house! The landlord is coming this weekend to paint, mow the lawn, trim the trees, etc... I will be there helping out & already bringing some stuff in. I start moving as soon as they are finished but the best part is that I don't have to pay rent until Jan. 1st. In other words, I have 3 weeks to move!

Your help would be greatly appreciated! I say we make it a get furniture in, order Pizza & talk Mark VIII day!

moving right next door how cool is that, just walk the crap over and toss it inside lol! thats cool dude congrats. i got a nice suprise too from my landlord. she lives in sarasota and owns the house i rent, and she owns her house in sarasota, no banks involved. she has been super awesome to use for 2 years, and she asked us if we would be interested in buying it from her this coming summer. she said once she gets some stuff taken care of, she will have an appraiser come out, look at the house, and she said she'll make us a sweet deal that will work for both of us, basically we are gonna keep paying her, but it will be our house to do what we want with, and she will be our mortgage. i'm all over it, she knows we have horrible credit and she has bent over backwards for us, she is putting in a whole brand new central ac/heat this spring out of her pocket and wants nothing in return. its only a 3 bed house but as soon as we do the deal i'm blowing out the back of the house and making a new bedroom for me and my wife and i will move my son into our current room, we are so excited this will be our first, and hopefully only house. so i know how you feel, i'm just not as far along as you i have to wait a little bit still!! i'll have to come down one weekend and we can all get together, rich and sherri, elliot, me and my wife, we'll have a cook out and i'll cook up my ribs.

Jamie, it's EXACTLY how I'm doing this deal. 2 years rented then purchasing the house! Dude, if anything you are further than I am because you are already there! CONGRATS buddy! As for BBQ????

I have 2 full blown gas BBQ's that were given to me. One is stainless steel, the other is a cheaper make but I refurbished it last year. I can cook up to 10 racks + other food between both BBQ's. On mid January I'm having a HUGE housewarming/wedding shower party mid January. WE MUST PARTY!

Jamie, I understand you, when ANYONE moves from one state to another (where the climate is soooo diferrent) it impacts you hard! People in FLorida are diferrent, the weather here sucks, heat, heat, heat, breeze, rain, heat, heat, oh :q:q:q:q, is that winter? Naahhhh, just another breeze!

I visited NY back in March 2008. It was 12 degrees, snowing & all I saw was grey, brown & white! I was depressed by the end of my 1st day there. I wouldn't move to NY even if my life depended on it! Yet I know plenty of people that abide by that City!

I visited North Carolina... Caught my attention, beautiful colors, actuall hills/mountains not flat land like Florida. Yet the winter there sucks balls! I grew up in Miami but I can't stand Miami. This city sucks! I can't wait to move further up however I know & recognize it as home! Miami in my mind will always be cozy & hommy. In 5-6 years I plan on moving to or close to Panama City, Fl. It's nice up there.

Anyway, Jamie what made you choose Tampa? Why not Ft. Pierce? Jacksonville? St. Augustine?

It is very nice there! But make sure there's a job for you there before you go! I went there lasted 4 months, had a job about an hour north of the city he guy flaked out, hit every shop in town and on the beach nobody was hiring. So just make sure you have steady work before you do it.

My mistake... Sorry, us Miamians call Palm Harbor Tampa because it's close by. If I could, I'd move to that area for sure.

I agree with you very much!!! I know 2 cases of 2 differrent families that have hit rock bottom in 2 cities up in central - North Florida. One of them ended up in bankruptcy. NO JOBS! Only mediocre jobs, $10, $13 p/h & even those are hard to find.

Right now $10-13 an hour would make me a happy little piggy! I'll tell you guys we tried other towns down there to and could find nothing at all, Tampa, Pasco county, Hernando county gave up got a loan and went back to Tennessee.
