Which is funny because I hate them.

I have owned many Mark VIIIs but holy hell I have had a lot of Caddys the last year. I was just about to go buy a 97 Mark VIII when I was forced to buy another Deville (first picture).

Thing is people seem to love them so they sell quick. Don't think I owned one more than a week and usually sell within a day, some sell within 5 minutes after their repairs. Just have to be patient and willing to fix the things the person is selling it for. I am to the point where I can start one and know within 2 minutes everything I need to fix and what the cost is. :shifty:
I guess that's the key. Don't buy a Caddy for resell unless you really know how to work on them. Some of the work would cost the average person thousands in labor alone. Cant tell you how many are out there for cheap because "It sometimes gets a little hot but I am sure its an easy fix." Yeah right, Northstars suck balls.

Anyway, here are the ones I have been through in the last year. Never paid more than $1400 for one and some were $500. :shock:

Just thought I would share for some of you that wondered where I ran off too. LOL

These are just stepping stones so that when I find that perfect Mark VIII again I can keep it and bore you all with my build threads again.

I tell ya, the 4.9 is the engine to get in one. Freakin bullet-proof. Northstars are not bad as long as their cooling system gets flushed every year, new pump every few years and radiator every few years. But if you don't they overheat just once and there goes the head gaskets and the motor is now a brick. WAY to expensive to deck the block and heads because you cant just "slap" a new head gasket in there.

Only if they didn't have the North Star in it, I would have one. I drove a 99 Cadillac sts two days ago, it was beautiful. The car was mint inside out but then I looked at the engine oil and it didn't look right. I am thinking head gasket but it only had 72k and was selling for 6k.

I am going Tuesday to get a clean 97. Its Cordovan on graphite with new OEM front air. Air works, blend door is bad, neon is good as are the HIDs. I know its owner well and he says its a solid car so I know it is in fact a solid car.

Not really a Caddy guy as I had an Eldorado and the trans went bad on me. However just found this one about 10 miles from me and it was fairly nice...not a DDriver car tho
