I never get rid of my cars, but I don't need to believe that it is a classic to do so. I know a considerable amount about classic cars, and unfortunately, history is littered with many cars that while cool and rare, are just purely undesirable.

well said lugi, im 20 and rock my mark viii proudly, a 96' with 64k, awesome condition...., yeah and whoever said the pimps comment.... i totally agree
 
Pimp is an ugly and obnoxious word.
I'd just assume it had nothing to do with anything I own.
 
Yes, please keep the following words away from my car:

1. Pimp
2. Bling
3. Phat
4. Flossin

It's that kind of stuff that causes a car to lose its value. :)

Yah want one? 3000 and its yours. A little rust, the interior is being restored and is out of the car. Oh and its obviously got the 400 with an edelbrock cam, performer intake manifold, and a edelbrock carb(????CFM???), it also has summit long tubes with turn downs directly after the header flanges.

Yeah! they're very heavy! I think they're around the same as a mark though. Even with its weight we estimate that it will run high 12's to low 13's. With close to 425hp. Who knows though.
 
I have had my Mark for about a year now, and I have to agree. Mustangs are nice, but EVERYWHERE! I was really glad to see Ford bring back the classic Fastback style in 2005, but really, the Mustang is everywhere. The Mark series is not, and I personally like the obscure, less known cars. My co-worker jumped in my Mark the other day, and was like, "this is so cool"! He thought it was a 2000 model, or newer. Gotta love it!

I agree 100% mustangs are cool but everywhere and the v6 converable is complete pos and should be ban from the US:).I think that the mark is the best car ford ever made in the linclon line up. but not the best car they ever made.I think the mark will be a classic in its own crowd but it is not well known enogh to be a car worth 50G+ in 15 years. i love may mark it was basiclly the CTS-V of its time if you think about it. the only 2 cars i would trade my mark for is a CTS-V and 03-04 Cobra mustang and even that i would be sad to let my mark go.
 
Speaking as a classic car owner myself, being only 19, classic cars have been in my life forever.

I drive my mark, only in the bad weather, (I'm sure I will get nasty feedback for this, but my '49 Ford is cooler. Sure its not as fast, but why race on my local boulevards and highways? Too many kids I know have died from that, and it's just not worth it to me.

And some of you might think, "Oh, he's only 19 and can't appreciate a real car", the Mark VIII does have a nice bodyline, and a pretty sweet motor under the hood, and I do like it, but any chance there is nice weather, my shoebox Ford comes out, and to some, that may not be the most conventional car, but hearing my Flathead, is better than hearing my 4.6 DOHC. Not only do I have that, but my father and I share all of our cars. We have a 1955 Oldsmobile 98 with the rocket motor, and we have a 1951 Chevy one-ton panel truck. We've owned vettes, a 54 chevy wagon, a 38 chevy two door and a ton of others. THOSE, are classic cars. No car built in this day and age, for the exceptions of those that are based as proformance cars, will ever be considered classics. Traditional hot-rods are where it is at, and those are the classics, nothing Boyd Coddington can turn out is a classic either.
