Ive read alot and can't find any exact answers. The car takes off good and moves well but if you let out at all it will stumble around 3,000 the next time you try and get in it. Does this sound like a stuck imrc issue? And if so can they be cleaned without pulling the manifold? 44 cans of seafoam later....................:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I would think the only way of really getting them "clean" is to remove them. Ive had sets that wouldnt move intill i used 2-3 cans of brake clean and a tooth brush. Ive also had a set that looked very low milage but the bearings were toast and one side was frozen shut and the other stuck open.

Similar issues here. Seafoaming through the pcv line helped a bit, but the issue is still there, just not as dramatic. I'm also agreeing to get down to the IMRC and clean them by hand. I'm trying to find someone that is willing to port and polish the stock manifold so tearing down to the IMRC's won't be a waste.

If I find a write up when It's time to do it I'll post the link on this thread...but if you find one do me a favor and do the same. Good luck :)

I haven't found any imrc's writups and no pics yet. I am now searching hard and becoming frustrated.

Yup, thats me. And just for clarification, i am AHD in that post. I changed my screen name some time ago. The only way to check these is to manual move them, and then actuate them with a vacuum tool, like a mityvac. These way you can see if they are physically stuck closed/open, or if the vacuum canister seal is blown.

Damn, I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since I did this. Sheesh, time sure flies.
