I need help 97 double din install

Every wiring diagram I find doesn't seem to match the color wires going to my factory radio if anyone has a wiring diagram for a 97 mark viii lsc with jbl speakers please help me
 
I actually got a wire harness from Walmart. When I installed the double din, the only wire that wasn't listed was the amp turn on
 
I have a harness and instruction but I need to know wuts wut for the factory wires

I'm having problems with my kenwood rear speakers don't seem to work and my right front speaker sounds like crap when I get the volume a little bit high sounds like it's crackling idk I used that wiring adapter I was shown on eBay and I'm pretty confident everything's wired up correctly if anyone has any tips for me please help

Your right front speaker is shot.

Are you still using the factory amp?
 
Your probably right idk wut else it would be I used this PAC ROEM-FRD2 LINCOLN JBL RADIO REPLACEMENT INTERFACE so the factory amp was used but I don't think my rear speakers r working and it doesn't sound like there's any base
 
I would come off the factory amp and re-wire every speaker with new wire from a newer or new 4 channel amp. Even re-wiring straight off the stereo itself would be better than what you have going on now. I think Sapper got a new MB Quart 4 channel amp and he says it sounds great and has more than enough power. Those old JBL amps have just seen their better days. JMO
 
also my opinion. time to ditch the factory stuff.
is it the speaker? is it the amp? wiring? interface? i dunno. just rewire it.
 
The MB Quart amp I got on eBay for $120 NEW in box, its a 4 channel and yes it pushes my Infinity Kappa very well, I'm using an ancient RF mono for the 10" Boston G5...

I think I have right at a grand invested in my total system, navigation deck included. I think it sounds great, but would rather have a 555 sub with a mono MB quart amp but whatever

Its not an opinion that the stock amp has seen better days, even when it was brand new it was still stock, and that's just adequate for music ... any TRUE music lover will always upgrade.

My suggestion would be to get the largest power wires you can afford, my sets were both $35ea on eBay, they're the 8awg kit. This will allow you to go with more power later if you want it without having to rewire a second time. Larger wire will help keep your system working at its peak potential
 
I can do all the work myself I'm just not knowledgable about wut brands r good I'm not looking for anything crazy but better than stock
 
If anyone can tell me wut size speakers for front and back wut brands wut ones fit with the least modifications that would be great
 
Infinity Kappa 6x8, my set came with 2 and also had 2 tweeters for about $120, but you can find them even cheaper now, they have a Kevlar cone and are very very very clear (wiring and deck will play their role here as well)

The tweeters fit in the stock tweeter box (cylinder) they provide a super tiny Allen wrench, so make sure you tape it somewhere where you wont lose it in the event you ever want to remove them. I tapped mine to the backside of my glove box
 
So that comes with 2 speakers and 2 tweeters wut should I buy for an amp and rear speakers and should I do a sub I have like 0 experience with this stuff

To simplify it for you, it might be better off for you to just go with 4 that fit with very little work involved. Examples

Then pick out a decent amp and run no less than an 8 gauge power wire to it. Doesn't have to be a real big amp because it's going to out do the old JBL junk they put in these cars.

Then you'll need speaker terminals and amp terminals but all of this above are examples.

Fork or ring terminals for amp. Either can be used.

Adding a sub is optional for you but along with that comes more wiring and money (sub amp, 4 gauge wire from front to trunk into a distribution block that has a 2 output for 8 gauge wires and the sub of your choice)

Mine is 2 gauge wire from the battery to the trunk and connected to a JL Audio distribution block with two 4 gauge outputs for power to the amps.

The distribution block eliminates having to run two separate power wires for two amps. Mine is hidden under the spare tire cover.
 
"What you should get" -that all depends on you and your bank account. 6x8 is the stock size, but a 5x7 will fit -thou I'm not sure why anyone would go smaller than stock

You can get a fairly decent system for less than $500 or you can go all out and spend well over $10,000. Your budget is the main factor.
 
I'm looking to spend no more than $500 so if anyone can tell me the best setup for that price range that would be great
 
Since our stock systems actually run the tweeters separately and the mid/bass ganged together on each side for six channels, what does one do with the tweeters in a four channel set-up, assuming that there's a separate amp and subwoofer box?

Very true. That's why I was putting out the easiest and cheapest alternative but knowing $500 or less will be involved, helps a lot. Not sure where I am with mine really. I'm at $500 from the battery to the head unit and door speakers. Then the rear speakers which are Kicker 6X8's and three JL Audio 10's and one 4 channel amp and a Class D sub amp Kicker ZX series for both of those. By the time you're done, it adds up. I know I'm under $2,000 but over $1,500 for sure.
