and just so people know, because this thread kind of makes rich look like an ass, he doesnt sell junk, nor would he put something off on anyone without being totally honest up front, i think alex's choice of words and the way the thread reads is that he bought a pile of crap off rich and didnt know what he was buying, rich is a good friend of mine and i know the kind of guy he is and he doesnt sell crap to people, this car was a cheap beater that rich and i cleaned up after deciding that we werent going to use it for a doner motor. i have one of rich's cars at my shop with low low miles, no motor or trans, and this was gonna be the doner until i got a 97 in with alot less miles on it that we decided to use instead.

Plain & simple, I expected a "sh!t car" like Rich described yet as soon as he drove up in it I found it to be more than what you guys described it as! In the thread you posted about this car you wanted to get a vanity plate called Polished Turd! Ask Rich, he was trying to explain to me all the things that were wrong with the car yet I was like; "Whatever!" I determined last night that the car is officially a project car. A SLOOOOW project car because I'm getting married +I got some debts to get rid of!

BINGO!!! I thought it was going to be parked for the rest of it's life, I knew EXACTLY what I was getting into but this car deserves a 2nd chance! I SEE POTENTIAL IN IT! Sorry dude, that's all I meant!

Here in Tennessee you must now have a painters license, paint booth, prep station, and as painter you must keep records of the paint, primer or you get a fine, you name it to paint a car or you get a $10,000 fine IN rural TN! Not to high jack your thread but:D what about emissions down there? Trying to figure out if it's a place I could live.

I do think might be wrong but I think even spray painting you need a small booth, I have to read up on the new rules that went in affect this year.

Oh boy, when I tell you about emissions you will flip!!! Emission check ups were lifted over 10 years ago. I rememebr taking my 1st 2 cars to emmission places & I wouldn't be able to get my tag if I didn't pass emissions. That's not the case any longer!

Now we can't be pricks either. I make sure there's no/little wind when I paint. If it's a big area, I park my car under the canopy & partially cover it. Only because I don't want paint flying everywhere but not because they make a big deal about it.
 
I have live here 20 years, we have never had a car inspected for anything, they don't even look at it to register it, retitle, nothing. Only time a car gets looked at is for custom built cars that need a title, or to get a rebuilt title. Florida is easy on people for the most part with cars and what not, this state sucks for other reasons.
 
I remember when they lifted the emissions for Pinellas county, about 10 years ago but didn't know about the rest of the state. If you see a white mark with either a gold front fender or primered front clip by summer time that will be me IF I cannot sell it, if we can get the Ranchero done and sold.
