I was at the junkyard a couple days ago and saw a Gen 1 in the "processing" area that I hadn't seen before. I walked up to it and started looking at it, and got pissed that they butted the front of it up to another car. Looks like that caused the grille to break. I've got a friend's brother that needs one, and haven't been able to find a good one in the area.

Anyway, because of how close the cars are in the processing area, I couldn't just walk along the side of it. I walked around the car next to it and got to the rear end where I noticed that it's actually a Gen 2 with a Gen 1 front end on it. WTF? Unfortunately, the neon was gone already, but I just stood there in amazement. I looked in the trunk and there was some remnants of the Gen 2 front end, including the grille and part of the header panel attached to it. Apparently, it had gotten into an accident at some point and they found a Gen 1 with a decent front end and transplanted it. The interior was the 97 black, but not in very good shape.

its a Gen 1.5, I can't believe you have never seen one of those, they are indenginous* to people with no insurance :)
 
I have'nt seen one either!! That is crazy. I wrecked a gen 1 and tried to get a "front cap" for it and the junkyard wanted $1500 for it so I just parted it because I could'nt find a good partster!!!
 
Thats the third 2nd gen with a first gen nose that I have seen. When I was shopping for my first Mark I got really confused cause I saw a 97 with a first gen nose and had no idea what was up. I thought it was an early 97 model. :lol:

Yep, Conti wheels. It also seemed to have a Gen 1 headliner, with the Gen 1 driver's double sunvisor, but it had the Gen 2 passenger sunvisor. Too bad the interior was crappy, that's the first Gen 2 black interior I've ever seen in the junkyard. Usually it's the prairie tan...

First of all your racist ass should learn to spell. Its INTERRACIAL. Second of all, has anyone ever kicked your ass because you speak or type before you think. Third I fail to see how a gen 2 with a gen 1 front clip is like a mulato child DIP:q:q:q:q.

That is rich, you can't spell worth a damn and your calling me stupid. There are two ls in philly and two os in too. Either is not spelled eaither. Its not your fault, your parents never raised you to respect yourself or others. They clearly didn't teach you to spell as well.

oh and phily by the way, I was looking at your other posts, and do you talk :q:q:q:q in every thread you write in, really dude get a life. All you do is start with people on here, do you get your ass beat and get made fun of every day, do you then go on your computer and start with people on a car forum to get your frustrations out, dude if you lived near me I would walk in your house and beat you with your computer. I have swapped noses on my old Chevelle way back when but that has less to do with me subscribing to this thread :rolleyes:

I was wanting to put a Gen2 rear end on my 93, but then...Id like to put most of a Gen2 on my 93...basically it's to the point where the only parts I like more on my 93 as opposed to Bills 98 are,
front clip, steering wheel, motor and drive shaft, dash and console...everything else I want Gen2...
Maybe I'll find a Gen2 and stick a Gen1 front clip on it, toss in a 93 drive shaft and some gears and call it a day
