Whats involved in swaping hubs. I hear people swap to cobra hubs? Does the cobra hub have the same mounting points as the stock hub assemb. does? first of all, whats the atvantage of runnin diffrent hubs, being able to run diffrent rims?

I would suspect that to be about the only advantage...
Probably just take the wheel bearings out, and...

Whats involved in swaping hubs.

Front: You need 2 hubs, 2 hub retainers. You break the old retainer, slide the hubs off, slide the new ones on, torque to 220 ft./lbs., new rotors, done.

Rear: You need 2 hubs, 2 bearings, 2 hub retainers, 2 c-clip retainers. Mark the bushing positions, remove the hub retainer, remove three knucle bolts, use a jaw-puller to remove the knuckle, remove the rear c-clip retainer, use a hydraulic press to press the hubs outward, hydraulically press the hub bearning inward, press new bearnings and hubs, new c-clip, slide the assembly on, torque bolts, torque hub retainer to 200 ft./lbs. Re-drill rear rotors or make adapter to relocate the caliper if using 11.65 rotors. As you can tell, the rear section is a PITFA.

The hubs are 5x114.3mm. The Mark VIII and Cobra rotors are the same offset/ tickness- just a different bolt pattern. The rear rotors is where they differ; so you'll either have to re-drill the Mark VIII rotors to the 5x4.25 pattern, or make an adapter per the TCCoA article to run 11.65 rotors.

More rims, bigger brakes, better looking, harder stopping.

Front; no. Rear; a puller is needed.

Or a shop press.

I have always removed the entire spindle, and pressed the hub out from the back with an impact socket just small enough to slip through the bearing as it pushes the hub shaft out.
