So I was thinking since how used Mustang wheels are so available and cheap that it may actually be cheaper to hub swap. In the future it would allow me to do the Cobra kit. I can build a Cobra brake/lug swap for about $800 but with wheels and tires its out of budget.

So I need to verify a couple parts. I can get new Mustang front hubs for $45 each and then am I supposed to get GT SN95 front rotors to retain my calipers? In the rear I see used 99/01 spindles with the hubs are about $360 for a pair used. I thought I could just get the rear hubs but I guess you need the spindle too. Then for rear rotors I can just use 94-04 Mustang ones, no?

I am gonna give Max a call on Tuesday to see what new rear spindles would run but I am sure they are not cheap.

So are there any parts I am missing?

You don't need the rear spindle, the 99-04 cobra rear hubs are a direct bolt-in swap for your stock rear hubs in your spindles. The rear cobra rotors would require a spacer be made to move your caliper slightly out and back. I don't know if stock mustang front rotors would work or not. It would be worth a try, but if they don't, just have your stock rotors re-drilled to the 5x4.5 bolt pattern. That would probably be the cheapest and easiest way to get it done, because then you know that everything will bolt right up.

After some searching I see the Mustang rotors are too small anyway.

yea,
the front gt rotors wont work. If you want brakes as well the cheapest way is to buy a used loaded front cobra spindle with brakes. You can redrill your rear hub or buy new.

don't let frog see this post, cause you surely didn't search tooo hard. lol

I know driller, I just was looking for a cheaper route. I always figured it would be a Cobra swap. They are around $400 with everything for the front.
As for the rear hubs, I cant find them at autoparts stores so its eaither used (so far with the splindle attached) or Ford dealer.

It will be quite some time before I do this swap then.
Thanks all.

The only thing I couldnt find on the search was the rotor size difference between the Mark and the Stang. And Frog is never here anymore so :p

Sorry, sometimes I dont verbalize my thoughts well.

Earlier when I said "After some searching I see the Mustang rotors are too small anyway." I had ment I discovered the Mustang rotor is a different size so to retain my stock brakes I have to have the rotors redrilled. I dont want to do that. If I am gonna do it then I will do it right.
So I will just build it slowly as funds permit. I will wait till a full hub/rotor/caliper/line kit from a Cobra or Mach goes on ebay for $300ish (I see them all the time) and learn more about the rears. I would like to do Cobras as well and I will call Max on Tuesday (as indicated earlier) to get a price on the rear hubs. EBay has them but 95% of the time its with the spindles and then its about $150 each. :(
The part about the rear that concerns me is that it seems the rear caliper bracket will have to be fabbed if I want to go Cobra. I have no fab skills and would need to find a shop that can do it for me so thats an additional expense.
All in all its dooable for me if I piece part it when funds permit just like I did for my rear.

Thats a slight bummer too. I will be ordering the last parts I need for that from Max on Tuesday and figured in two weeks I can have it installed. (too many bills due and I am NEVER late on them) Well after someone on here pointed out how bad my tires look I decided to go over all four and they are all worn down to the wear blocks so thats a $400 expense I was not expecting right now, soooooo the rear is gonna be delayed a month from today. :(

Hub swap details can be found here. :)

Gee, I wonder who wrote that?

You can get a pair of rear hubs for ~ $150 here:

And you can get the rear caliper relocation bracket here:

Where ya been mang? Fall into a big pond or eat a bad Spanish fly? :p

Nope. Now and then I have to put in an honest week's worth of work for an honest year's worth of pay.

In the 'hood where I come from, the Spanish Fly eats you.

Notice I said "hood" not place. I'm not Russian. Close to there though.
