With the thread about Hp going on I was thinking. HP number a re great but I'm more concerned about track times. So... What does it take to get a Mark VIII into the 13s? Preferably on street tires NA.

Im not sure yet, the best Ive ran is ao 14.39. I know its not a Mark but its close. With the jmod and a converter 13s better happen.

vortech s trim, stall, and trak loc should get you low 13s high 12s depending on tire. If aiming for high 13s prob just the trak loc, stall, jmod, tune

Yeah, I've seen all of those videos, none of which show a Mark VIII with only "Chip, maf, exhasut, 4.10 gears" making a 13.xx pass?

Try it I guarantee you will go into the 13's with that formula as long as your car is running properly meaning good fuel pump and fuel filter as well as a good tune up & traction. I have only been building Marks since 97.

You guys must be running at 500 feel below sea level, down hill, with a tail wind. I have never seen a bone stock Mark VIII run a mid 14. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, I just have never seen it.

Just search on here and all the other Mark boards and ask. There are many on here alone that have done it.
Try it yourself what else can I offer you?

I'm not looking for anything. And I have tried it, along with several others. I'm not saying it can't be done, I just had not seen it, so I asked for an example.

So in that article, You say the car made 307rwhp with a MAF, UD Pulleys, Exhaust, Ignition, and a Tune?

The RWHP was a typo as was made clear many times after the article came out. I made 266.

I went those times with chip, maf, exhaust, pullies, stall converter, bushings, etc, read the article.

Then search all the boards. We did it as sea level, Atco and Englishtown. Ask Ken Kropac on here he went 14.33 with just our exhaust.

That does bring up a good point, that all times are relative to sea level. Someone obviously isn't going to run the same time at sea level versus 3000 feet above, so knowing where the person asking is from would be helpful.

13's boring! 10's!

videos of marks spinning there wheels then posting some low time then fading out doesnt cut it. you need to show your car go pole to pole in the full video.

im about to do a big burn out when i finally get a chance to race go 1/3 down the track and cut tape edit it 10.04 @ 129! woot! post it on youtube!

this is exceptable, tree to friggin tree, 11.84 600 hp.

i love it! 150 wet all day - i have 80 100 and 150 jets, for the track 150 for sure, too bad it doesnt last long. a good alternative, spend 400 bucks instead of 4 thousand to run the same times. well of course you need to get the right plugs and fuel pump accordingly.

yea i love seeing full videos of runs... there the only ones that matter. ill def post mine once IT STOPS RAINING! i wont be able to go above the driveshaft limiter! fudge. geno! ya gotta help me out here! june 30 is so far away!
