How much is this sh*t gonna cost?!?

So I got rear ended... Not too badly, but enough.

The neon is cracked and broken - didnt work anyway, so this doesnt really bug me LOL - the bumper is scratched and what not... in addition both quarter panels have very some dents... like an accordian smushed coke can effect... very light, nothing crazy, but enough to send the entire trunk/rear end of the car down maybe 1/2 inch and cover 1/2 my exhaust.

The exhaust got nailed a little..and there is def a leak in the weld under the front doors.. I can smell/hear it... and the car rumbles a little at idle. Not sure if anything happened to the air-ride sensors or what not, but it seems to be a little off.

The car is making weird creeks and groans when I hit bumps or get in and out, the drivers door doesnt shut as easily as id like... and the trunk is the same story. Its almost as tho someone pushed down on the rear right section of the trunk and thru everything out of wack a hair.

The quarter panels can probably be banged out, but I do have the triple coat evergreen paint job - so that is probably an expensive fix in addition to the exhaust and a new neon/bumper.

Any thoughts on this? Will get some pics ASAP
 
From your description, an insurance company will total the car and give you a check. Another part of your description sounds like you might want to take the check, possibly buy your car back and just get you another one. They'll never fix what you're talking about.

See this is what I was thinkin.. KBB puts my car around 6 or so. I would like to get maybve 3-4 and keep the car, maye fix it, maybe just drive then sell for $2500 or somehting. The car mechanically is awesome.

The other side is a little worse, and I cant really get a pic of the exhaust... it looks fine but I know something went in the collission
 
List price on that neon is $600. Fixing the fenders, bumper, exhaust, straightening out body, will net them to total it. Based on what you said, the damage isn't only centralized in the back, it is everywhere.

yeah, its like... so minimal, yet every little bit adds up... the 1/4 inch in the trunk thru the quarter out 1/8 of an inch, which sets the door off a little, and so forth.

So... If they total it, I get 6 or whatever its worth?

I havent been in a car accident before, but I would think that it should be up to me if they total my car since its the person who was at faults insurance covering it, not mine.... they cant take my precious car away from me for whatever price they determine since its not cost effective to them can they? Cant I demand I want it fixed??

By "Fixed" i mean... Painted black, with straight pipes and saleens thrown on :)
 
Damn shame to see another 97 Evergreen LSC get wasted. Not a whole lot out there.

It is totaled and it is NOT worth $6000.

See, its cause its a Niche car... mine would have sold 5000-6500 no problem. No rust, perfect undercarriage, perfect rims, everything. But KBB says its worth 3500.

Dont I have a say if its totalled or not? Cause I cant buy another car like this for the money they'd give me.
 
Laser you catch on so slow....look at the car closer...notice anything funny?? I'll let you figure it out this time

I wonder how hard you'd have to run into the back of one of these to get the 10 spokes on the right side
 
Laser is correct. My guess is that you might get 3K to 4500.00 but fixing it is something that they will not do for 99% of Marks. The body being warped enough to throw things out of line would be an outrageous fix and then the neon, exhaust and no telling what the sounds are that you're hearing. Expect a check for under 5K. I know it sucks but that's how they do them.
 
Ya know whats rarer? Another Evergreen LSC that shows up with the same Michelins on it that looks just like another members car that was banned for the fourth time a month or so back.

Well thanks guys - not the best of news... but I guess even 5K i'd take.

Whats this about buying my car back? Do they even give you that option when its totalled? I part the bitch out

I have never seen another one of this color.. If I did I would certainly umm..ahem borrow...some parts :D

No you wont. They will give you book and deduct 10% if you wanna keep the car. That car is not safe to drive, the crumple zones did their job, now they no longer work.

Its too bad, a year or so ago these cars were worth a lot of money but then this total ass hat in FL called BodyByASS bought an Evergreen LSC and then the values plummeted! Glad that douche was banned. He was a total waste of sperm.

Hahah well the guy said expect a check for less then 5K - so I was just saying I'd be happy with that. I mean - if they let me keep it, ill jsut pocked the cash and drive a little more carefully i guess. I'd hate to part with her since shes in such good shape!
 
Car aint worth fixing. Parting it will net you a grand or so unless you can sit on parts and collect top dollar for them.

You got air bags still? Hows the front suspension components? Those parts all add up and if they are good just save them for the next Mark.

Airbags are good - pretty sure they were replaced. Everything in front end is original, minus some ball joints that were done at the dealer from the previous owner. I have a garage so I guess I could sit on it, but even if I did, what realistically would I net?

Im better off just keeping the damn car, driving and enjoying it and buying myself a little $3k motorcycle :)
 
I just didn't want you thinking you had 6K coming. Now it's looking like a check for less than 3500 and if so, then part it to get the funds up into the 5K range which could take up to a year or longer seeing how sales are down for Mark parts and the competition is out there with some low prices.
 
thats bodybyAAS driverside tailpipe is caved in like his was and all the scratches on the rear bumper are the same as his. welcome back duchebag.
