How bad would a G35 Walk a Mark??

You probably raced an 05-06 G35X... they will do mid to high 14's stock. I have seen a bone stock one run a 15.0 launching off idle (you need to launch these cars, can't flash the converter like the MK8); the 07-08 are a completely different animal. And the 09 G37 is like only 1 step down from a GTR.

I know the differences....it was a 306hp. Headlights and tailends are quite different. The G35X badge being above the tail light vs below.


I've ran plenty of older ones at the track too...350zs included. Many of these owners can't drive at the track.

Even blew the doors off a Q37coupe at the track.......Lighted him, stuck it....and he never came close. His time was better and IIRC a 101 trap. High 13 if driven.....but I got the win lite. And if on the street I would have still one that one.....he was sleepy.
 
I think he maybe able to do it with some lighter wheels and drag radials...
 
had a g35 couple pull me by about a car when i had my stock gears. i looked online after we beat me and they usually run low 14s.
 
I just don't think a wheel and tire change ALONE would do it... it would pick up some time, but not a whole 3/10's....
 
Do they make high stall converters for the 5 speed auto in the LS? Im pretty sure the stock one is already a decent size stall...
 
00-02 are the 5n the 03-06 are the 5s. Think you can get stall for both.

Someoneposted awhile back that they were high stall already....i disagree.

I would say its quite the stock 1300-1600 stall.
 
G35s are a weird animal (well, the coupes anyway.) I've barely pulled one in my old bone stock 94 Mark from a dig. And another I had a hard time running down in my TBird SC (at least a second quicker than the Mark at that point.) Maybe I ran an older one, then an 07-08...
 
did a clutch in on at work, we've been dead and ill take what i can get, not bad 6 speed, ant the kid (yup about17 :() got some light weight 1 piece flywheel. nice part was i got to drive it when finished, not too bad but i expected more w/ all the hype, still a beautiful car.
 
Well, we went from a 60mph roll after work on a highway we knew was dead. We took a big chance knowing that state troopers hang around at 11pm on this highway.

Both cars floored at 60/65....i knew it, my Mark hung till i hit 3rd gear (stock lsc gearing 3.27 etc). My car shifts into 3rd and i'm at 4K rpm...his car shifted into??? but he was in his power band....he kept walking away FAST up to 110. We shut it down.

He was a good bus length ahead at 110 not exaggerating. On the way home we went from a dig, he was 2 big cars ahead at 60mph.

I'm sure if i had 4.56 gears, and an empty trunk i'd be dead even.

your used to the V8 torque. my lincoln "feels" a tad quicker than my turbo miata, but the miata is a good bit faster.
