My buddy has a 2008 4-door G35xs AUTO (fast sedan version). I think it's around 310HP???

He often jokes how his car would kill mine on the highway, he heard my exhaust once and liked it...then simply put down my car cause his Infiniti sounds like...well...a V6..LOL.

From a 55mph roll???

My 96 LSC is stock except removed mufflers, kn air filter and no air silencer.

It shouldn't take the Mark. A friend of mine drives his gfs G35x around town, and driving home from school one day, getting on the highway he tried to get right into the left lane and leave me in the dust. He never got past me and gave up at 110, he was about a car length back at that point. I have exhaust and chip, if that makes a difference for you.

I really like the G35 coupe, I wouldn't want to try my luck with one of those. Dunno if thats one the Mark can win.

Yeah the AWD G35's, especially the sedans, aren't that quick. But neither is a stock mark though.. Might be a good race!. Check out that video of me racing the 350z, its under my profile under my threads. Might help give you some idea since its the same engine just a way lighter car!

my buddy's dad has a 07 G35x, we g teched it......best it could muster was a 15.1.....I haven't done my mark yet, but with chip, exhaust and ramair i think I could better that time.......don't be scared.....if he does beat you it won't be by much and he still paid more than 10 times more for his non-american car!!!!

From a dead stop I would say he would take you in the 1/4 but from a 55mph roll I'd say you would take him, albeit not by much...

A 2008 G35x will smoke a stock Mark VIII! I mean it wouldn't even be close, from a stop, from a roll, from a 1st gear roll... whatever you want to do! They have the new HR motor putting out 306 horsepower and they weigh 3550lbs. 14.0 flat in the 1/4 mile bone stock. Now a race with a 03-05 sedan auto will be much closer. My friend has an 05 G35 sedan 5 speed auto with just an intake and it ran a 14.6 at 96mph... very close to a chipped Mark VIII.

cut off some weight and then race...there weight is around 300 punds less than a first gen Mark and also their Torque rating makes the HP looks like crap

The G35's have around 270lbs of torque which is pretty close to our 4.6 DOHC motors. And it's not all just about weight, their trannys are vastly superior... I bet if we had their 5 speed auto our cars would drop a half second in the 1/4 mile, much less the new G37 7 speed auto...

Exactly! There bada$$ cars.

I raced one when my Mark was stock from a stop and it was about dead even.

A slower car wins or is close all the time on the street, too many variables involved... at the track the timeslip doesn't lie! For example, my friend had an 88 Mustang GT convertible speed density with exhaust, K&N conical and no smog pump and he would take me by 2 cars up to 60mph in my old 95 LSC (before I had gears)... but at the track his best time was only a 15.6 at 88mph while I was doing 14.3-14.5.

yea, the track is a whole different ball game....i remember my trans am was really nasty on the street...at the track.....14.23@101

It will kill you from a stop, roll....your only chance to stay close would be from a higher speed.

They arern't all they are hyped, but against a stock VIII, it will stay ahead.

I ran a 35X from 40-80ish in my LS, pretty close he pulled a half a car at most but my LS runs low 14s.

+1 on the MarkVIII being a totally different car with a 5r trans. First thing that you recognize when driving a LS in comparison is the close geared trans. I mean I was like holy crap this thing shifts alot on the test drive.

I'd say .5 sec for sure.

I'm in 4th gear at the 1/8th mile mark with my LS with 4:10 gears. Run the rest of the track in the 1-1 4th. Just to give you guys a idea.

Edit: sorry if I got of topic

Totally true but that was my limited experience with a G35 and the OP was asking for what would happen on the street.

You probably raced an 05-06 G35X... they will do mid to high 14's stock. I have seen a bone stock one run a 15.0 launching off idle (you need to launch these cars, can't flash the converter like the MK8); the 07-08 are a completely different animal. And the 09 G37 is like only 1 step down from a GTR.

Like I said I have a lot of experience with these cars.My friend used to own an 04 Sedan auto with headers, catback, intake and plenum spacer he ran a 14.1 AT 98MPH. This is the VQ35DE rated at 260 from the factory but is actually more like 275-280 bone stock. My other friend has an 05 G35 Sedan auto which was rated at 280 flywheel but is really the same motor as the 04 but with a different tune. He couldn't get the thing to run better than a 14.8 at 95mph. I told him let me run it once. Set the psi to 45 in the front, 30 in the rear, launched at about 2000rpm, manually shifted to a 14.6 at 96.5mph almost hitting the :q:q:q:qty stock rev limiter at 6600rpm in 3rd gear. Only mod is a 350z intake tube with a gutted airbox and k&n panel filter. That car needs a tune badly, it has a lot of potential...

I whooped a 05 G35 bone stock with my LS bone stock with 2 misfires and I whopped it by 3 car lengths

in 3rd gear I pulled away from him bad

A properly running gen 1 LS V8 will not be close to the 14's stock much less with 2 misfires. I don't think he was racing you.

High 13's stock? I would love to see that... my 4.30 geared, tuned Mark VIII with 255 Toyo drag radials hasn't been able to crack the 13's yet. But i'm sure there are stock gen 2 LS's that can beat me right?

actually he was:shifty:

plus I believe some LSes had reached high 13's stock

(driver mod is real)

most get high to mid 14's with intake, exhuast and a tune.
13's would need a whole lot of spray, either way, not stock

^^^ shhhhh....you're messin me up

I hate ricers there, are ya'll happy???

But yeah, the G35 had like 3 fat ricers and I was by myself weighing @115 pounds and I had taken the passenger and rear seats out and mufflers and resonator was off and no spare in the trunk plus it was sct tuned with intake riding on 17s
