***HELP*** Coil conversion questions..

I am 17 and a proud 1 year owner of a 95 mark viii. But, yesterday my front right airbad went out, then the pump. At first i said "yay, here comes coil overs with 1.5 lowering", but after going to get them i find out they are no longer sold. I have heard to just cut off 1 coil from the stock ride height but doing so i know it will make the car more bouncy. Is there an alternative? Like, can i buy some aftermarket strut for the front and just buy some other stiffer aftermarket springs and make my own kit??? Thanks guys.
 
yes i talked to Eddie thru e-mail and phone, he says to just buy the stock height and chop 1 spring from the non-flat side. my question with this is, will it make the car more bouncy or to soft?
 
Eddie says to chop 1 coil from non-flat side. will this change performance in any way? will it make the springs "BOUNCY"?
 
Do it right the first time. Get some Vogland or Eibach lowering springs for a mid 90's T-Bird Sport and get the best shocks you can afford to go with them.
I have stock T-Bird Sport springs and Tokicos and love the combo. I would like it to be about a half inch shorter though.
 
Less SPRING= Less BOUNCE in our world of gravity, especially with car springs. Frog, you called this one on the money.

Eddie specifically says in the ad "PLEASE CHOOSE "STANDARD HEIGHT" OR "1.5 INCH LOWERED" KIT"

I'm having a hard time grasping the concept of being told to buy normal springs and cutting a coil out yourself but at the same time, showing an ad for the 1.5" lowering kit. I would call to find out but I'm riding on air and prefer it that way. If I want to ride lower, I can adjust 3 sensors and ride lower.

Laser is very happy with his setup and he's been hitting curves at 70 & 80 mph and the car doesn't even lean. It remains planted to pavement. I'm sure the springs and shocks that Laser is telling you to get would be the better setup and most likely cheaper. Better quality shocks and if the ride is still too high for you, then cut some off the Vogland or Eibach (bird) springs, 1/2 a coil would be a start.
 
Yup, I love my setup. A hair more spring rate and .5-.75" lower would be great though. The Voglands will drop .7" so I will prolly get them inthe future.
The Eibach Pros will drop the car just over 1.5" and the Eibach Sportlines will drop you about 2" but are very very harsh.
The only two springs I know of that will give a 1.5-2" drop and still remain civil are H&R or Eobach Pros.
 
Does anyone have any comments on the Monroe Sesna-Trac conversion kit? it seems to be the best deal so far.
 
Just call Eddie ... but if you are working with Eddie's vast knowledge of the air ride system ... I'd suggest buying from Eddie.

Don't be one of those @$$holes who try to find a China Discount and then try to use Eddie for help when these other companies fail on service and support. In matter of fact many of these low quality places even Arnott send customers to use Eddies service as they don't support what they sell or have the know how.

I have them (the 1.5" lowered kit), and they were pretty bouncy for a while. I didn't like it.

After coming over a hill or hitting a bump, the front end would kinda float up and down a bit. I've had the kit on the car a couple of years now, and it doesn't do that anymore but it's something you'll want to be aware of if you buy it.

Ride harshness is a little more than I'd like, but I've gotten used to it.
 
Monroe and Gabrials suck. I had Monroe on the front and Gabriel on the back. The back had no controll and the front would bob up and down like a land yacht on dips.

The Ebach Pros will run you $240 shipped for the set and Tokico blues will run $231 shipped and come with the right bushings. Your car will be dropped about 1.6" and will handle killer! It will be a bit more firm but the body controll is vastly improved.

My car feels very German now. Good solid ride with great handeling and a nice ammount of communication in the steering. :)
 
I understand that but it was the closest thing I could think on how to compare its "feel". I have owned many German cars. Right now my cars feel and feedback is very close to my old 560 SEC I had only the Mark corners better. :D
With the setup I have the Mark does not feel floaty like most American luxo barges do and for some reason the steering actually communicates whats going on rather then being over boosted or numb. My SEC didnt communicate that well (it was recurculating ball though) but it feels more like my old 750iL did. I loved my old 750 but parts were rediculous.
 
Ive decided to try the Monroe kit since a friend had an extra set and i get them for free. If the ride turns crappy ill take the advise on the other sets of springs. Thanks for all the ideas and tips guys!!! :)
