I put the climate control all the way up to 90 degrees and it still blows cold, what could it be? Engine temp is fine, hasnt changed, so could it still be thermostat? I hear the doors in the back open and close when I turn on/off the climate control. TIA

its a 98 i know everything lol. most likely the blend door. have fun changing it dude!!! if you want to drive to florida i'll change it in 90 minutes!!

Where is the blend door located? Luckily there is a 98 Mark VIII at a junk yard 5 min from me, I just need to know what exactly it looks like and where its located and what to do to take it off. Thanks

easier to just buy a new one from max at fivestar ford, they're only 35 bucks, you don't want to do it a second time if you can avoid it. Here is a link to the instructions for replacement. It's not for the faint of heart but you can do it if you have any mechanical know-how. http://www.markviii.org/LOD2/blend_door_repair.htm

How can you do one in 90 minutes Jamie?

Reminds me of the guy who can do Crown Vic heater cores in 45 minutes without pulling the dash.

how can i ?? because i have probably done a dozen or so, if you dont believe me go over to lod and pm jack carter ( JC ) i did his in his 97 2 weeks ago while he sat at my shop and waited, he said the same thing, you're done????
started at 9:30 am, pulled the car out at 11 am. its easy because the directions to do it are way to much, you dont have to remove anything except the center console and all the bolts holding the dash, the column can stay bolted, the stereo, the climate control, everything, all you need to do is unbolt the dash itself and the dash will come out 6 to 8 inches on the pass side, that is all you need to get the BD out and new one in. my first one took me over 3 hours because i went off directions from one of these boards that had me remove all this crap that i now know doesnt have to be touched at all!

Thats pretty awesome Jamie. The guy I know can some how change heater cores without touching the dash, but he won't tell anyone how he does it.
