Today i hang my head in shame as i got owned by a 3.5l maxima the thing is totaly stock. it killed me off the line and on a rolling start. is my car just that beat down from being so old and needs new life. or are those 3.5l v6 just that bad ass.
 
I am guessing by your sig you have a decent amount of nice heavy audio equipment. My old 94 ran mid 14's at 97+ stock. How badly did he pull on you?

yea i do have some heavy audio and im not a light person either. he was pulling pretty good from 50 to 100 he gained about a length and a half.with going off the start he was 2 cars ahead of me by the time we hit 60 and he let off the throttle. grin. of coure i said hey why did ya quite i was catching ya. thats when we rolled it up to the 100 mark. of course i had to eat my pride at that point. all well win some loose some. i did have the overdrive turned off but i left the TCS not sure if that would of made much difference. i know the car needs some tune up tho. the only thing its really gotten was a new fuel filter and air filter. other then that god knows how bad the rest of the stuff is. the wires look crap and i havnt checked the plugs yet.
 
I have raced them with my LS and they give me a hard time, esp from a dead stop, I start pulling once abouve about 40 though, I would say my LS is a mid 14 second car, never been to the track, but typical add on's.
 
My ex had one as a rental and they felt cheap and slower than a mark.. It was a 3.5l. idk. must've been me.
 
you have to remember just because you own a car with a v-8 that doesnt make it fast, a mark VIII is not a fast car, maybe on the highway after a few miles of WOT but as far as a light to light car forget it, its a big heavy luxolandyacht!!!! if you want to make it fast from light to light, slap in some 4:10's and a good convertor, or supercharger!! better rob a bank.
dont feel bad, i had some stuff done to my 98 lsc and even had dennis reinhart set me up with some trans work and i got smoked on us 19 by a god damm neon!!!!
 
My bosses SRT-4 puts out 440hp! He has a lot in it at this point, but can you imagine getting 110 horses out of each cylinder on our marks? Gone are the days when V8 meant first to the finish line.:( I drive my mark for that affordable luxury cockpit feel. Being pretty fast is a bonus.:D

nice. i do plan on some 4:10s already and 3500 with trac lock. so im hoping that will help. this too was on us 19. grin. its just so easy to go fast on that road i guess thats why its the deadiest in the states.........
 
The VQ is a great engine. The only bad thing is all that torque steer in the FWD Maxima.

But could he run that for an entire season of drag racing, probably not.

I ran super gas (9:90 index) with a big block Ford making 650-700 horse in a pinto wagon for about 12 years. I could run the index all day long through a 32 car field week-end after week-end. All I ever had to do was rings, bearings, valve springs. keepers and locks each year, thats it.

Before all these techno tuners it was turbo VWs, but the same thing. They'd run like crazy till they blew up. The big inch lumbering big blocks still rule the sportsman ranks.

Your lack of a tuneup probably kept you from giving him a run for his money. You wouldn't have won, but it would have been a hell of a lot closer. And you're running premium fuel, right?

yea its all i run. i told him we would do it agian in a few months when i had a chance to make things better since the car is for a lack of better terms Tired at this point and needs to be woken back up
 
Im pretty sure that Vauxhall got the record taken by a TT viper... From what I remember the viper ran a 7.6 and is completely street legal

A few mods and you would take him. I smoked a new Mercedes E500 SUV the other day on the highway. Jackass kept cutting me off, so when he saw I was going to rip past him he floored it. As I ripped past him he flicked me off and was flipping out because he couldn't believe he was losing. It was great!
My point? Mods ftw!

Mod that beotch and run em again! I bet the outcome will be much different.
