whats up everybody? ive been having a couple recent issues with my gen2 mark. one day after i hit a nice sized pothole, i noticed that the rear end was pumped waay up, i have at least 5 inches of fender gap right now. i am assuming that i somehow knocked the sensor down the solenoid somehow but is there anything else this can be?

another issue that just started recently, especially when its cold, when i get the rpms over 2 or 3k i hear a high pitch whine, it almost sounds like a belt is slipping or something. is this even possible? i tried to show a friend of mine last night but its inconsistent and didnt want to do it this time around. any ideas?

thanks in advance guys

The sensor in the rear should have markings where it was, if knocked loose. If so, try to get it back in place and as for the whine, this could be the beginning of an idler pulley or alternator about to go bad.

Just my guess!

hard to tell as its really inconsistent probably more of a whine or squeal rather then a squeak. it may be my alternator as i have a pretty heavy stereo setup. i wish the weather was better around here, or id pull my back wheel off and check the sensor but it has been sh!tty lately

O'Reilly's has Motorcraft reman alternators and they are done by Motorcraft. Don't buy the Ultima brand. You will change them once every two months. Just giving you a heads up on that before you even go there.

Water pump. Put a long screwdriver against the pump, the PS pump, the alternator and any other idler or moving object's body. press you're ear to the handle of the screwdriver. you will find it for sure this way.

as far as the rear ride you most likely broke the height sensor ball stud, this happens if you nail a pothole big enough, if the sensor got knocked out of adjustment it wouldnt let the rear air up that high, most likely the stud busted.

ok if the stud busted, what will i need to do to fix it?

and to 1bad4.6, i dont quite follow what you are saying?

with that big stereo i would get a better alt. and put a stinger batt. in your trunk will make your sound quality perfect to

yeah i plan on running 0 gauge and doing the big three once the weather and my funding is a little better. and i have never seen a mechanics stethoscope before thats pretty darn interesting. would they have something like that at autozone or the likes?

yeah its not looking too too bad today, about an inch on the ground. where at in granite are you? i used to play hockey at the outdoor rink out there
