Glass Question

I need to replace my Drivers side rear door "Vent Glass" since its broken (the small triangular section). Safelite gave me a quote of $325! I plan on hitting a salvage yard to find a replacement. Does anyone know if the Gen I and II Sport/non Sport are the exact same size? Is there any variation in stock tint levels for rear door glass? I have a Gen II with the windows tinted and want to keep everything a perfect match.

I dont think the vehicle came with stock tint because my 06 came with none.

Just a stock UV protection layer I think. I don't know if that varied between years/models.

No stock tint. But a UV coating - kinda gives a slight blue hue.

Check out Tasca parts, I know I saw an oe windshield on there for $193 sensors and all.

just throwing it out there . try your auto insurance . Some policies willallow one glass replacement per year or something like that. If you have full coverage and sometimes even without full insurance . i went through progressive and they sent Safelight out to my shop, i didnt have to pay anything.

had mine replaced at a local shop for 187 with tint, after someone decided to break into my car just to steal some altoids.

I have a counter offer in on one including the frame from e-bay, if that works great. Otherwise I am going to check a couple of salvage yards and local glass shops. Did they just replace the just the glass or did you need to replace the frame section around the vent glass as well?
