ok, well i hit a nasty dip in the rode and heard a bang as if it bottomed out.. I have had this happen but not to this extent..The only other time this happened was last year when my front pass side inner fender liner/splash shield dam near shattered. I just replaced the pass side and all is well.. Was putzing around the drivers side liner and found that it knocked the very edge of the bumper cover down about 1/4"-1/2" from about the middle of the headlight to were it meets the wheelwell..

Is the a bracket that i can bend back or adjust w/o taking the bumper off? Can i access it through the wheelwell if i take off the inner splash shield?

The pass side had the same problem when i bought it but its only on the very edge (about 1.5" from the wheelwell)..

sounds like we need some pictures!!!

just take the wheel off and look around... the bumper really isnt all that hard to remove

all ya gotta do is turn all those things that hold it on counter clock whise..then pull it off

looks like it bent the fender mounts.. pull the bumper and bend the fender tabs back in

i had to do the same thing on mine, both my front struts were blown when i got my car, i was slamming the bumper all the time, which is why i now have no fender well covers

i did notice on the pass side that there are 2 (?) holes that dont have anything in them..about 1" from the wheel opening..Is that were the bumper attatches to the fender?
If so i think i can just take off the splash sheilds and get them were there supposed to be.

Idk, seems like taking the bumper of requires alot of bolt turning vs taking off the shields.

Should i hit the mounts upwards or just use my best judgement based on what it looks like once i get in there??

use best judgement, take the splash shields off, youll see what needs to be done

i would think it would be dangerous not having any with the fuel filter and all in there. I would take mine out but it would look like poo..That and it snows up here and there are electronics in there.

Anyone want to give me a heads up as to what bolts i have to take out if i decide to take the bumper off.

Edit: What if i just chop off the middle (above tire) section of the liner and keep the sides to protect the fuel filter and wireing. Then Fill in the gap that isnt covered with some undercoating. Cuase it seems as though there is more room above the liner thus i wouldnt be banging the shield resulting in bent fender brackets.

I would remove the valance from below the front bumper. There are like 4 or 5 10mm bolts holding it on, then it hinges down. You can then get a flash light and look up under the fender side, under the head light. I beleive you will see one of 2 things, either the bottom edge of the fender is tweaked, which you could bend back back with your bare hands or... From what you are describing, you lost the 2 nuts that hold the bumpee tight to the fender, right were you are descibing and the photos. They are just 10mm nuts that go on the 2 studs. Or, even less likely, you ripped the bracket off the bumper, that would require you to remove the whole bumper and epoxy the bracket back on. Good luck, hope this helps!

anyone?? kinda want to get it done today. Seems like it would work.If there is extra room once i cut the center section i'll just heat up the the sides of the liner that are still intact and conform them to the metal part of the inner fender to minimize the rain/snow/gravel from getting in there.

I "fixed" this on someone else's car recently. If you pull out the headlights, you'll probably see some missing/loose plastic push pins that connect the bumper cover to the fender.

cool...thanks. I just got the liners out and marked were i'm going to cut them...Looks like it will work w/o undercoating it..Cleaned under there and am going to block the few holes that are exposed.

that cover is supposed to have two metal brackets attached to it right where the bumper cover meets the headlights on the sides. the cover should have two 11 millimeter nuts on each side holding it to the fenders. take the headlights out and see if there are nuts on them metal brackets, or are the metal brackets even there? it looks to me in the pictures that neither side of the bumper cover is bolted to the car.

liners are fixed and done with....I'll take car on the bumper tamara.
