Funny thread on SVTP

My buddy has an srt-8 jeep and with my mods, I can hang with with him from a roll. From a dig, he usually spins the tires so much that I can get the jump, but he catches me everytime.

My buddy has a srt also from 70 on he pulls but not by much. From a dig my cat falls flat on it face while the srt is Out of my view

i'm curious who it is who thinks so highly of his mark, who is the original poster anyone we know/ cuz the srt will pound the piss out of any stock mark, alot of modded marks as well!

That dude is on crack. He says there are many Mark owners running 12's without power adders or a little juice? Really? Also his car runs low 14's at over 100 mph stock? Yeah, right. Also states that a car mag says the Mark can do 180 mph? Dude is clearly high on something.

You'd be surprised which cars pull hard on the top end. I can pull an SRT8 Jeep on the highway no problem on the spray but a stock Mark VIII? No way...

Those srt8s are fast a :q:q:q:q.

You need a good 400hp at the wheels to keep up with one.

wow did the xr7 ever come super charged, i thought that would be considered a super coupe not xr7

yes. there is a supercharged 3.8 XR7 Cougar in my driveway.

XR7 was mostly a suspension option
You could get an XR7 with any motor

sort of.
89 and 90 XR7s had the SC 3.8.
91 and 92 had the 5.0.
they did have many suspension upgrades, but the bigger/more powerful engine came standard with XR7 package.

Not always my friend had a non SC 3.8 XR7
and I have seen many for sale

The 1989-1990 Cougar XR-7 was basically the Cougar version of the Thunderbird SuperCoupe. Same 3.8L, 210hp supercharged V-6 engine, 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto tranny, same electronic adjustable suspension (Auto/Firm settings), same ABS 4-wheel discs, same interior, etc. The only difference between the SC and XR-7 was the body. In 1991, the XR-7 lost the 3.8L supercharged V-6 in favor of a 200hp 5.0L V-8 (note: there was no V-8 engine available in the T-Bird or Cougar in '89 or '90). It also lost the 5-speed transmission as well and was only available with an auto until its demise in 1997. The '91 and '92 XR-7 still had all the suspension and interior features from the Supercoupe, however. In '93, the XR-7 became an option package on the regular Cougar. No more adjustable suspension for the Cougar. At some point afterward, all Cougars became XR-7's. So the "best" MN12 XR-7's would be the 1989 and 1990 models. Especially if you can find one with a factory 5-speed. And they were pretty fast too.

I would have to agree with this.I recently just road in a '08 SRT8.A friend did the guys breaks.I went for a short ride with my friend and even though he didn't get on it (wish he did). That thing pulls.

400 horse? Maybe 375.

Now only if Lincoln would bring back the Aviator and do the same thing. :D
