heres a good one to try. i cant hold the camera up and drive, i'll have someone do it later, see how LOW you can get your mpg down at wot. from a standstill t/c off od off floor it and keep it down as far as you can. im cammed so it uses a little more, but had it at 4.3mpg then flattened out at 9.5all the way to 140.
i was at an idle at a light with 7.8 mpg.
on average cruise at 70 i never get above 19 and i hardly drive 70
then let off and see how high you get got it to 44mpg at coast

Well, I was almost in the same boat until I did a fuel filter, air filter, and plugs. On my way home from work today (mostly all highway) I was doing about 80 the whole way, and my average (which I reset when hitting the highway) stayed between 25.9 - 26 mpg. I was happy to see that. From about 80 coasting, I think I've hit 42 on the instant.

I used to get 99mpg instant on the old '96 coasting downhill at 60mph in OD.

I can't get the '97 to do it, though. The most I've gotten out of it is about 63mpg coasting downhill.

Its not great. Heat is the enemy but that car has a cooler.
