Ford 8" and 8.0?

Do you think you could fab one up for me and then when I get everything situated I could just drill out the mounting holes?
 
A 280hp@6000, 286ft/lbs@4000 on a 3800lbs car ain't gonna jump 0-60 no matter what you have.

so add 20hp for mods.
 
20hp aint gonna make it jump either, specially down low where that 20hp aint gonna come in
 
But it will make it faster than it is now. "Fast" is relative.

Tell that to the MarkVIII guys. Stalls are popular with them, they are heavier yet and geared worse with the 4speed trans and they get out WAY better with a stall. Common to take .2 off the 60, that will be close to .4 at the end..... yeah faster.

Not to say the LS will react the same but with as many 1/4mile passes I have I am guessing a definate gain.
 
sorry - i did not mean to dismiss all your work - you have moved the needle and have worked hard on it.

.4 in a 1/4 is somethign like 40hp or 400lbs less - right? so I'm not sure that .2 0-60 is a 'jump' for everyone - that's all I meant. The fact is we have to get every little bit we can.

I meant .2 in the 60' alone, probably as much as .5 for the 0-60 in some cars, again they all react differently to mods. And the LS with its fast ratioed trans may gain less than typical, as I found with my gear swap.

A heavy car probably needs a stall worse than a light one, throw the hp and tq at it quicker....makes sense to me.

Also...

More HP will make you go faster

Less weight will make you go faster with the same HP

Using the HP you have more efficiently will make you go faster. Like getting to the peak HP faster....like gears and stall.

Little mods add up. My car feels far from stock with just little bolt ons.
 
Im thinking Ill break into the 13's with the stall, if not just that than Ill get tuned and be there for sure. 14.30 @ 97 CAI and exhaust with a nasty AFR of low 12's.. Im pretty sure I go this in the bag!

I thought the gears were a sure thing for 13s. LOL. Thats the game though.

Get a tune....so easy why not.
