I usually only browse the used parts section on the bay, but I checked out the "unspecified" section and found this. Thought it would be a cool piece to own.

The rest of BOTH sets...

I'm guessing two were curbed to death and replaced with the wrong side wheels..then all sold to him. Years ago I went to check out a set of Chrome 10 spokes for my Thunderbird..the guy wanted $500 for the set, when I got there they turned out to be all passenger side wheels..needless to say I didn't buy them..if you're asking that much they better be the correct drivers and passenger side wheels.

I actually have one of those I bought WAYYYY back in the day, except it's a '72 Mark IV. I got it off of E-Bay too, but back then it was cheap, like $5 or $10. The reverse side is the same as the Mark VIII one, though. I guess the price jump is because the price of silver has gone up so much... either that, or these may be older/collectible now. I don't think it said in the ad if this is "new" or "used", so I don't know if they're still making them.

New or used blocks of silver?? Does it really matter... its still silver

Not what I meant. I meant maybe I bought mine back when they were still making them, and, in that case, maybe this one's more expensive because they're no longer making them and maybe they're collectible now.
