Hey guys i just took my MARK VIII to the Clarksville Raceway 1/8th mile track last Friday night. Wow its slow i ran a 10.36 and a 10.60. Spun on take off but not to bad, the big killer was the lazy shift to second gear. I think it would be easy to hit 9's in the 1/8th easy with lil mods. Funny who this big boat of a car would come out the hole faster than alot of the cars, but lost its momentum on the up shift. LOL JMOD DRY SHOT ASAP!!!!

PS: What have you guys ran stock and what kinda difference did the shift kit make.

Night and day.

I had a Baumann kit on my previous tranny and like you, before the shift kit I would loose ground at each shift, especially the 1-2. After the Baumann kit it was game on! :D

Roughly how much time did u lose off of your ET and did it break loose on the up shift? My TBird couldn't catch traction to save its life but it sure was fun!!!

Looking back at my logs, at least one tenth in the eigth mile and over 2 tenths in the quarter mile.

At the track it would chirp into 2nd. On the street you had better be on dry straight road if you were WOT on the 1-2 shift. :D

No, in both the 95 LSC and 96 Base I have run mid 9's stock. In the 98 I never got a chance to run it stock. First time I ran I had an SCT chip and Bullet mufflers and it ran a 14.6.

good times!! i knew it wouldnt take much to go 9's an like i said in a previous post i spun on take off in my 96 plus drove 80 miles to the track and started hot lapping lol
