It was a late night. Got them done.:D Just to add a little extra touch. We went to Home Depot to get wooden air-vents. We found brushed nickel vents. They were $4 to $5 cheaper then the wooden vents. Talk about a tough choice. The wife is happy as hell. She got her wood floors.

Now, we need to get some area rugs for the living room and dining room. Plus, rug runners for the hallway. Our greyhound HATES the new floors. She doesn't like to walk on them. Right now, its extra hard for her. She broke her leg two weeks ago. Its in a splint for 6 more weeks.

Did the work yourself? Excellent.

How did the dog break its leg?

How did the dog break its leg?

Two friends and I did it.

Not sure how Betty broke her leg. We think she slipped going up the two steps from the backdoor into the house.

Looks Great! Good job, now that the floors look so good you will have to update and maybe start the painting.......never done.:D ....and now the furniture just doesn't look right.

is it hard wood or laminate "wood"? and is it on the subfloor or did you lay it on top of the carpet??

Looks good though. I HATE doing hard wood floors!

I did all the painting long before the floors.:D Your right about the furniture. She already picked out and ordered a new sofa, loveseat, and recliner. NOW, I get a new 50" LCD TV in the lving room.:D

BTW Anyone want to buy a two piece sectional and two matching recliners and an entertainment center?;)

That looks great. What kind of staple gun did you use?

We had to rent two staple guns. From a local carpet place my friend deals with. My buddy didn't have the right kind for 3/8" flooring.

We pulled the carpet and pad up. We found that the builder apparently started to put vinyl in the dining room. Then pulled it up. Found staples under the padding. Most of them had been hammered into the floor or bent over. We wasted a lot of time pulling out and hammering down the old staples.

The flooring is Bellawood 3/8" Brazilian Mesquite. No stain. 50 year warranty. Its farely easy to fix if scratched or dented.

Some detail pictures of the fireplace trim, front door trim, and a picture of the vents the wife picked out.

The wood flooring was a learning experience. I had a lot of help.

My pride and joy is my bar.:) My first major project. After finishing the basement. Bowling alley lane for the floor behind the bar. The lane is 2 1/2 inches thick. Five 30" bar stolls. The bar is 11 1/2 feet long. Its a dry bar. Microwave and frig. The frig holds 124 cans of beer or soda. The bar top is wood flooring Poly urethane to seal it and make it shine. Some carved trim to give it character. The front of the bar has 5 coats of poly urethane to make it shine. The whole bar is golden oak stain.

Looks good dude. And for about 4.50 a foot, it's a good price for an exotic.

Nice bar too. I should take a couple pictures of my wet bar. I still have to add the lighting to it though.

Wonder how long it will be before a drunk buddy decides to toss a bowling ball down that lane behind the bar...

actually, yes, I'll call you later today.

Here are the pictures. Each sectional is 8ft 4in long. The two pieces are joined together with a single corner cushion to bridge the divider.

Man, you did a NICE job on those floors. Are they hard to do, or can anyone with a little backbone and a 6 pack of Coors do it?

Those are some sweet looking floors and that bar looks awesome too. Man, nice car, nice house, I bet you take tons of vacations.

Thank you.The wife and I have put a lot of work into our house. Finished the basement a few years ago. 860sqft rec room with home threater and bar.

Next two projects.
1. Granite counter tops in the kitchen
2. Finish spare room and bathroom in the basement.

Not as many vacations as I would like. Every other year, I take a vacation. I am a bit of a workaholic.

Unless its an easy room. I wouldn't suggest it. We had a lot of tough cuts and corners to work around. Lucky for me, both of my friends had a lot of experience.

I am a bit of a workaholic.

That would explain all the nice things. I can't wait until I am done with school so I can do some projects. I am pretty handy myself. Keep up the good work.

John, Omega wants to come and see it, we were super busy today, with Trenton, my Mom in the hospital (its not CHV btw and she is doing better) and Mega's contractions. I'll call you tomorrow, but maybe tomorrow evening or Sunday we can come look at it if you are not busy...I'd call ya, but im just about to crawl in bed...anywho, I'll call ya tomorrow...sometime.

Looks great!

I want to do my Living room but have concerns of the dog scratching them up and the occasional cue ball off the table, I have a pool table in my living room. I know the laminates aren't that durable like they claim.

Tough stuff??
