today was a good day, got paid, got laid etc etc, untill this...

i go to start the lincoln, i turn the key and nothing happens, all the electrical dies, and the negative and positive starts sparking on the battery, i shock the :q:q:q:q out of my self getting them off left it for a while put them back on, same thing, i took out my amp disconnected power wire and same thing again please help me with this guys i dont want my baby to die, or have something wrong with her. i have like around 700 bucks to spend on her so ill do what ever it takes just let me know!!!
 
Check to see if you have a shorted out main power wire. The one running down to the starter would be a good start.

not really coherent...you were 'shocked' removing the terminals? Do you have access to a multimeter? Could be an internal short in the battery, but it needs more investigation using a meter. Sentences....
 
i amnot great with stuff like this but....maybe the cable to the starter is loose and grounding out?
 
ha i see you beat me to it 94m5.....just when i thought i could finally be of some kind of service.
 
i think another possibilty might be the starter solenoid is stuck?

yeah i have one ill check it right away, i was taking the positive terminal off and my hands are all dirty so it slipped out of my hands went to grab it and it sparked and i happened to be touching it and got a good shock out of it lol

You should always remove the negative terminal first.

There is too much missing and untrue stuff added to be of any help.

Both battery terminals will not just start sparking. Also the car will not shock you unless you are very sweaty, leaning against the car making a good ground with your body and then lean hard on the positive battery terminal. Even then its a fairly minor "buzz", not a spark or a "shock the chit out of me" kinda thing.


So with the symptoms you described, my best guess,........... water pump.

idk wtf it was but i chit you not the shock was good enough for me to yell my thread title LOL well maybe im a big puss and it hurt more for me then others!
 
You should pull off both terminals and clean both sides. Bet you have some stuff growing in there and are hurting your connection too. Cables only (for the most part) get loose if someone loosened it or if it was corroding.
 
it was badly corroded when i bought the car, i got one of those brush things cleaned it up and got a new battery and new battry cable mount things.
