exhaust thinking

I'm getting an itch ti replace the stock exhuast. I wanna see hoe those shinnie mufflers look out back on 97-98 mk8. Wanna see if I wanna do rear muffler or midmount. I've done a search but can't find much on pic of muffler in the rear.

what is the point of shiny mufflers if you cant see them? i never understood why people want polished mufflers unless you leave your car on a lift all its life. why not just invest in mufflers that sounds awesome and cost less than ones that sound ok and you'll never see?
