Ever heard of a W3Z5 for a 93?

Yea, I would be careful about installing a Z2 until you can get that fixed. My parts car I got my Z2 out of was sold to me because a seal busted on the transmission. The guy said he just launched hard from a light and it dumped all its trans fluid out in the street. Of course, it had 155k on it, which isn't exactly low mileage, but, then again, my old daily driver Z3 was pushing 180k and took a beating almost daily (I drove it VERY aggressively) and the original transmission was still fine in it.

Yeah im going to wait until i get a real job (not just detailing cars on the side) and have some cash flow coming in. I'd get it fully rebuilt, JMOD, 3.73 gears, 2800 or 3000 stall converter, trak lok and i know mark viii's can only smoke one tire right? what's the thing called that you put in so you can smoke both tires a posi right?

Posi is the same thing as traction lock..just what Ford calls it..although mark viiis because of their independent rear suspension most of the time don't have a problem spinning both rear tires unlike a car with a solid rear axle..and if you're going to go through the trouble of doing gears, just go with the 4:10s..almost everyone on here says you're better off going big..and Id agree with that..

unless your accelerating through a corner. then it makes a massive difference.
and i rarely lit both tires on burnouts.

Me too. I've done dual strips, but more often than not, it's the one-wheel-peel.

I've got a trac-lok unit in the shed, but I'm waiting for a set of 3.73 or 4.11 before I put it in.

Ah, it sucks that only one tire burns rubber lol but its better than nothing. 4.10s would probably be what i'd put in when the time comes, i'd love more off the line grunt and power. Imo right now stock, if i give it a nice punch from a dead stop theres a lot of power. I love the car just the way it is but theres nothing wrong with more power lol

If all you're looking to do is be able to SPIN both tires than you are really defeating the purpose of installing a posi considering the point of having positraction is to enhance traction..most people here just like to be able to say "ya its got a traction lock" ..if you're running street tires then its not going to make a bit of difference anyway if you can't hook it up.
