Ever heard of a W3Z5 for a 93?

I've never heard of a W3Z5, maybe its a typo. I got a stock 95 base, what would swapping a 1993 W3Z2 Computer do for the car? Would it hurt anything?

If there's anyone to ask, it's nolimit, he has the w3z2 in his 95.

I really want to take a trip to the pick n pull in Indiana today..they have 2 93s that haven't been there all that long..worth a shot to see what computers they have..

I've got a couple for sale if you don't find one

It just has a more aggressive tune, along with 15 psi more trans fluid pressure. No speed limiter, better timing, better spark, less mpg's lol but I like mine and I never planned on chipping it so that's why I went with that particular computer. Right now you have a DZA1, which is better on gas mileage.

Anyway, no. Putting in the W3Z2 will not hurt anything at all. You might even end up with a better running car. I did.

my car turned into a monster when i put in that PCM.

went from a DZA1 to a W3z3 not a Z2 but damn the Z3 did wonders.

i didn't notice much difference between a w3z3 and a w3z2. but i did between a w3z2 and a chip.

chip ftw.

chip ftw.

I tried a W3Z2 as well, didnt notice much difference at all, ended up chipping the DZA1 in the car, that helped alot too :)

have any F2LF W3Z2s?

AFAIK, the good ECM's to have are the F3LF-AB & -AC W3Z2

The later F3LF-AD W3Z2 I heard are toned down.

The 92 date comes in that the date on the -AB & -AC that are good ones are 10/92, 11/92, and 12/92 (along with 01/93 & 02/93). Anything 03/93 and up aren't the good ones again.

That's the way I understand it works, somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

I personally have never seen an F2LF W3Z2.

This one is what I have in and I could tell a difference.

I also have never seen a picture of the F2LF W3Z2 but I sure as hell have never heard of a W3Z5. I wonder if it's from one of their prototype's...

You know the SUPERMARK was a prototype and headed to the crusher just like the rest of them were. If someone has the programmer, it should be listed as to what it's timing is and spark at WOT etc..

Ahh. Sounds good, one day i'll have to get me one :) Idk how much worse my mpg could get lol, its pretty low around the city, avg like 12-15 when i was allowed to drive it. Could be somewhat hard acceleration at times but its hard to resist lol. Idk about the bumped up psi pressure in the trans though, a year or so ago my father noticed a tranny leak and the mechanic said if its working fine just leave it, or else it would have to be fully rebuilt. Once i get a real job (not just detailing cars) and have some $$ coming in ill have the tranny rebuilt, have a JMOD done, 3.73 gears, ford racing trak lok and a 2800 stall. That should really wake it up, even though i love the amount of power it has right now being bone stock. Idk if its me but even stock i think marks have a nice amount of power.

I have the exact same one you do which came from a car with a 10/92 date on the door and I can feel a big time difference. Also, you notice the W3Z5 on eBay has a F3LF-AF part number so it MUCH have been one of the last ones before the 94s came out!

With the price they have on it, I'll never know if it's any good or not but I bet it's rare. Almost makes me wonder if it even came out of a Mark VIII...

Just put in a W3Z2 today..
I went from the original 95' DZA1 F5LF-12A650-AB to the 93' W3Z2 F3LF-12A650-AC computer, don't really notice that much of a difference, I haven't been able to really test it out, I just took it for a few mile cruise on side streets so I couldn't really open it up much, it seems like it's little more responsive, but the one thing I can tell is improved is how it shifts. Shifts seem more firm and just all around the trans shifts better. Also noticed my traction assist appears to be disabled which is cool, when I hit the traction off button the idiot light doesn't pop up anymore, so I assume it is disabled.

When I get an opportunity on a long stretch of road with nobody around and no cops for sure I will test out the speed limiter theory..

You'll notice your gas mileage also won't be quite as good but to me, it's worth it. Your shifting feels firmer because of the additional 15psi being commanded. Your timing has changed and now you have better spark. Take it out on the road and give it a good stomp. :)

Is the ECU that you just installed from a NON-TC car?

not quite sure, I got the computer from Paul Van, I thought I remember him saying the car he got it from had traction control, but I could be wrong..eitherway, I don't really care, if I could have gotten a Mark without T/C I would have.

I'll have to do so when its NOT RAINING..uhhg I hate spring time, I have 5 days off of work in a row and everyday the forecast calls for rain..sucks..

That is a 94 only computer. IMO, it's better than the DZA1 but not quite what the Z3 or Z2 is. My 94 had the Z4H0 and it seemed to get good gas mileage and it was also responsive off the line. It's just not programmed nothing like the Z2.

I wouldn't give what they're asking for that one for damn sure. Maybe $30 tops and $5.00 shipping.

Yea, I would be careful about installing a Z2 until you can get that fixed. My parts car I got my Z2 out of was sold to me because a seal busted on the transmission. The guy said he just launched hard from a light and it dumped all its trans fluid out in the street. Of course, it had 155k on it, which isn't exactly low mileage, but, then again, my old daily driver Z3 was pushing 180k and took a beating almost daily (I drove it VERY aggressively) and the original transmission was still fine in it.
