Looking at the carpet under the dash in front of the shifter. The carpet goes over the hump under the dash and it looks like the dash either needs to be lifted or the carpet cut to get it out. I think I'm going to cut it to get it out but to get the new stuff back in I was wondering if people who have done this before have lifted the dash to put it in or just cut the carpet and zip-tied it or something. There is this little bit here and then behind the dash 'frame' there is another bit of carpet that goes across.

edit: To Note: I don't know if I want to cut the insulation as I don't think the new carpet will have it and it will need to be reused.

When I done my interior swap, I cut mine but it was way up at the top, under the dash. I put the black in and cut it also and it can't be seen at all.

Am I blind or did you end up having a 3 tone interior? What's the headliner color?

That looks ****ing sexy!

I just realized what that black tar splatter is on NoLimits95's car.

I have the same black splatter on my floorboard! Always wondered WTF
that crap was from after I took my carpet out.

.

I didn't cut anything out, because I removed the entire dash before removing the old carpet, and putting in the new carpet. Tony, you get that far, and you don't remove the dash? It is not that hard.

I have a bit of time so I'm taking things a bit slow. The interior is not the only 'project' going on with the car. I'm 'multi-projecting'.

Its just undercoating, which is sprayed into numerous openings of the unibody then plugged.

You put that new interior in, you're doing double work. Makes no sense.

Well.. just confirming that the heator core is bad.

It's dripping out behind the blend-door.

It's been 2 years since I jumped the core and I was having a lot of coolant issues at the time. Couldn't remember with conviction that there was coolant on the passenger footwell and I've found the cowl leak since. Just confirming it.

I'm still trying to decide on that black interior. I like the way the 2 tone looks in this thread. I might do the black carpet/seats and keep the grey dash paneling. But I'm not sure if the 2 tone in this thread that I'm thinking of copying is 2 tone or 3 tone.

The black interior would be really hot and I think it would make the car lack depth.

But yea, I need to remove the dash and get to that heater core While I"m doing this. I'll decide on the interior by the end of the day.

I put a black carpet from a 98 (which is really dark grey) in my CE with light graphite interior. I think it looks better than that light grey carpet.

Yea, I do like that. I was leaning toward putting in darker carpet and headliner but really the decision is about doorpanels and seats. My drivers seat is shot and drivers door-panel is shot. Edit: plus the steering wheel needs replaced. :(

I'm thinking of taking the black steering wheel(keeping the center grey), seats, keeping the graphite center counsel, painting the vent-fins black. Black carpet and off-black head-liner.
