Engine Oil, what does everyone here use?

I used 5w30 Royal Purple and I just switch to Mobile 1. RP is too expensive right now and I am not paying 9.98 a quart for the purple or any other oil.

Thing with RP is its a TOTAL waste of money. Test after test shows this. Its just as good as Mobil 1 when fresh but has turned to crap in under 2000 miles. Has no lasting qualities.

RP is good for assembly lube though.

i use napa/wix filters and whatever is in the oil tank at work in all my cars....always change every 3-4000 miles

And how many of you guys send in used oil samples to see if you can extend your oil service intervals? I ask because 3000 miles is nothing for oil, nowadays.

I"m old school. I change my oil every 3K miles whether it needs it or not. That's how I was raised and it's not likely to change any time soon. Usually, my onboard computer tells me I still have 50%+ oil life left when I change it. It's an old habbit that hasn't died yet. And it works for me.
