Eibach Spring Help

Looking for some input from those of you with Eibach Springs or those about to put them on. I bought a set online and when the box arrived, it looked like it had been open and something doesn't look right to me (and I am gunshy as hell lately due to some bad online purchase experiences).

For those of you that own them, please give me the numbers printed on your front and rear springs. There are two numbers on each spring, if you could, give me them both. I just want to confirm they are the same as mine so I don't have a meltdown when I finally get the balls to do this.

Instructions

Instructions were also missing so if somebody could send me those, that would be helpful to. Would pay for your trouble.
 
I can't see the numbers, unless it is up on alift. If you go the Eibach's website it will give you the numbers under the application chart. Hope that helps.
 
Eibach

Here's the long and short of it; my springs have 3592.001 and 3592.002 printed on them. The first part matches the box and the part numbers I know (per Eibach) that should fit the LS. I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with the contents (IE, it's that 001 and 002 that has me nervous)....
 
They are slightly different sizes for front and rear too. That could be your part number discrepancy. front spring and rear spring probably have different numbers.
 
The fronts and rears have different numbers for sure. I don't know if they come with instructions though. I have bought two sets and both didn't have them.

Those numbers sound right, and I'm pretty sure I didn't have instructions either. Like pektel said remove old, insert new. A word to the wise check your shocks/struts. I probably should have replaced mine when I put new springs on, but didn't have the money for it, so it's not as smooth as it could be.
 
On/Off

Sarcasm noted and I figured as much. Reason I asked for those was because one of the posts on this forum mentioned cutting something. Did any of you guys do that?
 
The only thing I cut while putting mine in was the orange "tape" that was holding the old spring shock/strut together.
 
+1. I never cut any "bump stop" when installing the new springs. Only thing I did was used a grease pen to mark the location of one of the bolts/location on the strut tower, so as to make reassembly that much easier.
 
yea its fairly straight foward. the rears are a PITA if you dont have a lift or a buddy that can fit in the trunk lol.

also, dont underestimate a spring compressor. respect it.
 
Eibach suggests that you cut your bump stops, but I did not and have not suffered any consequences.:)
 
Scared

Trilk - I have too much respect; I've had these springs sitting in my garage for 3 months:-) I am a decent shade tree guy but the fear of those things blowing off my digits or worse has had me measuring this task for a long while!
 
Get, or rent a spring compressor.
Get, or rent a buddy to help.
Mark the spring, shock, bolt locations, to get them back the way they came off.
Did I say to get or rent a spring compressor?
Me and a buddy took 2 1/2 hrs to do this job. Take your time, and all will be good.
Eibach says to cut 3/4" off of the bump stops on the shock. I cut mine, and some havent cut them, and it seams like nothing bad has happened going either way.
I also dissembled the upper ball joint(?) to get more room to remove the front shocks.
 
it shouldnt take longer than an hour to do. i had never done it before and it took me no time to do. just a little common sense but now days that is hard to come by
 
The Final Cut

I am assuming this cut you are all referring to is a horizontal cut?

Have the spring compressor; bought one from Harbor Freight; clam shell type.

Have beers, buddy should follow.

Last call on part numbers - ANYBODY???

Have fun. Don't get too stressed about it. Just take your time. I had a spring compressor pop off on me one time when my father-in-law was helping out. I'm not assigning blame, but let's just say it wasn't my fault. It was pretty exciting, but nothing too severe. Don't worry about losing a finger, you have nine others. How many do you really need?

I removed a fingernail (pinky) once when I didn't have the compressor tight enough. I bleed all over the garage floor! Surprisingly enough, the nail grew back, despite what the ER doctor told me!

its the thumbs that you cant deal without, lose one of those and that hand is about as usefull as titts on a bull and you might as well lose the other four fingers :D
 
You can replace your thumb with your big toe if push came to shove :D
 
Just don't point the spring at your face when you are taking the top plate off and you will be good. I did mine with the crapiest pair of spring compress ever invented. I had to put them in a vice to get a little extra squeeze out of them.
 
I installed my lowering springs about 3 months ago. Uncle helped out, wasn't too bad of a job.
And just last week I installed new shocks. Both times I rented a spring compressor from Advanced Auto.
Definitely helps if you have air compressor and tools!
Let me know if you need instructions, I have them from another member on here and they at least point you in the right direction beforehand.
