EGR block off plate

Lets see... increased combustion cylinder temps resulting in less timing to avoid detonation... and a loss in fuel economy.

I have colder plugs and a tune. It runs as good as before if not better. and its not a daily driver so I dont give a fck about fuel economy.

You can believe whatever you want to believe....

I will. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with egr deletes. Theres a million and 3/4 mustangs that are running them with 0 problems. If you have no experience on the subject other than reading online articles you should keep your thoughts to yourself.

There is a million idiots that own mustangs too...

have you data logged your car to see what is going on with your car?

ohh wait obd1....

Have you done any tuning or have any tuning knowledge?

I think you might be the idiot that needs to stfu...

If only Tommy was here.... this thread would be 7 pages long already.....

Why? Because all you guys do is argue with people and try to put them down? Im telling you from what I have done personally to my own vehicle that I am experiencing NO problems. And there is NOTHING wrong with deleting egr. I remember jeremi had an egr delete on his terminator motor and im almost postive mike(94m5) had a delete on his 95 with a cobra intake.

Do you have any data logging to prove the quality or merit of this modification?

The reason I commented about Tommy is that he is a little more animated with how he feels about EGR delete...

Some people like to use data to decide on modifications... other people seem to like the monkey see monkey do approach....

I used the "oh :q:q:q:q i have a huge exhaust leak from my egr tube" approach. And no I did not data log. Its an eec iv car. I did however attach a scan tool.

So what your really saying is that you had no :q:q:q:qing clue and just did it because you didn't want to fix it correctly....

No :q:q:q boy.. Pay attention. My egr tube cracked. Ok got that? Now here's some crazyyyy Sh1t. The tubes are obsolete. So check this out. I removed the useless Sh1t and was back on the road in 2 hours. I knew what it would do before It cracked.

I have the EGR deleted and could care less what the side effects are - the tune took care of that.

I don't need to worry about that 1/2 mpg anyways which I obviously don't since I have 4.30s which is sooooo bad as well.

The EGR is supposed to control emmisions as well but I threw that idea out the window when I removed the cats.

The Kooks headers aren't worth the cost either and don't really help that much anyways. I didn't need that Flaming River steering joint either because the stock rag joint was kind of cool being all mushy like that and it didn't really need room to clear the headers.

I don't know what got into me thinking that shiny Gen1 intake would be as good as one of those "Cobra" intakes with the snake emblem on it.

The CAI was just a waste of money since we have cold air intake stock from the factory.

Everyone knows the stock Mark VIII MAF is just fine so I don't need that Pro-M 85mm MAF either.

The 40K GVWR tranny cooler I plumbed in bypassing the radiator tank cooler isn't allowing my transmission to get up to temperature.

That 3800 stall converter was wayyyy too much since I now have to mash the gas pedal half way to get the car to move.

The Meziere electric water pump is going to cause me to blow up the engine anyday now.

We all know I shouldn't have taken the finely tuned harmonic balancer crank pulley off in favor of the underdrive Steeda crank pulley for 2 HP.

I don't know why I put in 12C spark plugs when I know the 32Cs were just fine since the car has knock sensors anyways. I guess 'cause I thought I needed them since I replaced the stock coils with the overpriced "Screamin' Demon" voodoo coils.

Those spark plug wires? OK, I admit it, I bought them because I like BLUE. You gotta give me credit - I didn't waste my money on those Nology wires.

OMG, I almost forgot about the awful 160 degree thermostat that never allows the engine to get to peak operating temps.

All those braces... tsk, tsk, tsk - and that overweight sway bar - what was I thinking? All they did was make the car heavier and slower.

Now if I can just find somebody to buy my "factory" HID lamps I so foolishly scrimped and saved for when I could've waited a 3 or 4 years and bought some cheap HID kit off eBay for my toasted headlamps.

To think of all the money I've wasted on this POS car trying to make it go fast when I could've just bought a Mustang.

Jeesh, and I'm still not in the 12s. :(

I don't disagree with anything you say driller... you have proper tuning to work with all your mods and damn impressive track times to show for it....

If only Tommy was here.... this thread would be 7 pages long already.....

I "were" here..post #8.. and I was RIGHT wasn't I.

Your pissing against the wind brandon.

Once someone locks themselves onto deleting the EGR there is nothing anyone can do to convince them they've made a mistake..even if it's true.

Trust me.

You CAN run a Mark VIII without an EGR system...

Long as it's tuned to compensate for it.

Sure you CAN..

you CAN go free diving with out any scuba gear.
you CAN jump out of an airplane with no parachute too

You CAN do alot of things.. and YES deleting the EGR can be "compensated" for in the tune.

You can also take viagra to COMPENSATE as well.

Running a mark 8 that spends MOST of it's time on the street without EGR is not the optimum way to extract BOTH performace and economy.

By deleting EGR you might pick up 2% HP at WOT at redline whoopdie doo.. 6HP?
but you LOSE more than 6 HP in the other driving areas, from 1500RPMs to 4K where 99% of your driving will be done.

Againt this pointless EGR argument is alot like the DYNO SHEETS arguement where "numberchasing check writers" will give up 10HP in the mid range just to get 6 more HP PEAK.

Peak HP means SQUAT in the real world.. under real world driving conditions.

I replied to Frogmans post because he's "smart enough" to absorb the information without turning this into a personal pissing contest... atleast I "THINK he is"...hahah
*ducks and covers*
