Just wondering if there are rules about posting things here that are not MK8 centered? I think some here might like to see some DIY threads but if alot of you tell me to put cork in it I will.

My buddy with an 8 sec 68 Chevelle(all steel.all glass stock susp on 10 inch tires thats the gratuitis name drop right there:D) Dropped of this to make for him. He had heavy steel dual mount that was hard to mount and work with.

Found some nice light alum box tubing to make 2 hold downs out of. Here they are to start.

Here setting up boring head to samew dia as the bottles to make cut outs in bars.

There are drilled and tapped 1/2-13, countersunk and counterbored to slide on to the 1/2 alum studs super easy.
Here is maching on the notches to make the grip.

Heres all done, The knobs are made to lock into the bars so not 4 peices on the floor only 2 bars.

This shows the knobs locked on.

Heres everything laid out. Nice and super light and strong. The studs will have hexes machined onto them so he can install and take out fast to let wife get in seat. All this was done pro bono.

Yep, makes sense. So anyone searching for info about NOS and their Mark VIII can disregard this thread.

Or if they want to fab a bottle mount it will be highly applicable... that being said if you are smart enough to fab like ROTM and have lathes and mills you probably aren't searching LVC for fab tips...

TECHNICALLY this should be in the anything goes forum, but because of the badassness of it, the only section cool enough is the MarkVIII area.

The LS section would melt down.

Ya, I agree. I don't mind this kind of stuff in our forums. And, I didn't see any thing that made this particular fab specific to a certain car. If someone did search for NOS in the M8 section, this particular info could be helpful.

Hey guys..... i own the Chevelle that he made this for....

is this off topic? well i dont think its off topic but i do see why peeps want it in the general section. but like posted above, this could be made to work in about any car. I say that because my car runs the bottle at the track but i also like to load the kids up and go get ice cream or hit the local car show. i think thats PRECISELY what most of us "hot rodders" do.

im not here to make a flame in my first post ever... and i do own all chevy products--- one of which is a caddy.... so me and "right on the mark" have been buds for a long time. all his stuff is ford/linc and mine all GM... we race together a ton and spend countless hours in the shop....

with all that being said---- this dude is CRAZY beneficial to this board. For the record, he owns 7 vehicles.... one of which he showed a glimpse of--- that car has been in print. magazine print as well as a racer that controlled a race series for almost 6 years.. the kid is a prototype machinist by trade and sees stuff in his head thats just mental.
in addition to this he also helped to build and develop flow benches... in his shop he has a milling machine, lathe, tig and arc welders, lift,a flow bench, some horrible old school rap (sorry dude) and 3 boxes of tools.

so, in closing the kid has mad skillz, only spends money on projects he wants to and has decided to make his mark spank the local kids when they told him it was their grand mothers car.... i think this bottle holder could work, albeit slightly modified, to hang a bottle in any car and be easily removed for cruising.

i may have to bolt this seat into my 66 caddy along with the fogger kit to get that land yacht to hang with his lincoln....

wait--- if i pull off the morring bumpers i could lose some weight..... and all those ropes i use to tie it to the pier..... easy 500 pounds right there........im on to something here

Lol.....

Welcome man,

ROTM has nothing to worry about here in the MarkVIII forum. He posts uniquely beneficial info here and keeps it to the point.

I'm glad to see it on here.
