The little elbow that sits on the head near the knock sensor under the lower intake manifold gaskets?? Yup, had to replace mine last week aswell. Mine looked like it was melting from the inside out, which caused a hole which lead to a vac leak. I cant remeber how many times I had to install and remove the intake mani!! I know now that I can do it again in less than 10 minutes!!

Hey while I am at it. Why did you have to remove the intake so many times? Anything I should look out for?

sweet appears to be squared away now. Idles much smoother now as well. Thanks to all of you that checked in to lend a hand in the troubleshooting process.

I mowed the lawn first thing yesterday. I am a man of action! Now I am off to the streets to see if I can elude some law enforcement action. I can honestly say the car has much more power as a result of everything that has been done over the last few weeks. So if you are coming to Mustangs and Mustangs expect to meet a guy with a BIG BIG LS

I had to take it off several times cause the hose had a hole in it and i could hear the leak but couldnt find it!! I replaced nearly everything in the center of the motor, both sets of manifold gaskets, o-rings to the fuel injectors, hoses on top of the intake and behind, and the throttle body gasket. Checking that tube was a last minute hunch made by my friend.

Sorry i couldnt help much earlier.....

BTW, thanks for the invite to the mustangs meet! :Beer

seems we both got an education at the same time and in the same city. I suspected it was that PCV but did want to believe it becasue I was in the near that piece 4 weeks ago but had to close up everything becasue it was getting late.

I could kick myself for not going long on that play. Damn I hate rework. My PCV elbow tube was completely collapsed; was yours. How many miles are on your LS? No worries on the help thing I need that merit badge any way. Do you think you can make the event? For 25 bux it gets you and a guest in and your car photographed with the P51 Mustangs. Sounds like you have everything repaired on your car that you could ever want but if you need a second or third set of hands let me know.

Yea, mine was collapsed, my LS has about 51k on it now.
I have to work saturday mornings but could make it later on. Sunday would be a definate date i could make in the morning.

51k less than half of what I have. I am now at 109k miles. I think it might have been on its way out for a while though judging by the looks of it.

I recently replaced all my coils and plugs becasue of a misfire condition. Shortly afterwards the aforementioned code were thrown. I cleaned my MAF and checked the integrity of the seal on my air tube. I strictly run 93 octane fuel and since the misfire condition has been corrected there are no other drivability concerns.

any help would be appreciated.

B1 SHORT TERM FUEL TRIM 10.92% <- doesn't look right.

Could the electrical connectors on some of the injectors be loose?

Did you have to pull the injector connectors off when replacing the coils?

If I recall, they had a crappy design with squeeze tabs that break off eaisly and therefore do not lock on anymore.

What are some reasonable numbers for these?? I have the same scantool and I have numbers but what is a good range..

Also, how "Loose" should the plugs over the spark plugs fit?

should be rather snug and offer some resistance when removing. I found some ranges but did not save them. I will see if I can find them tonight.

my plugs fit loosely.. not "pull" when I take them out.. kinda like they just sit into place.. These plugs run about $35/piece?

mine are snug bought them from 5 star for aboput the same price. Car runs much better since I have replaced them all. The old ones fit loosely.

V6 and V8 have different coils if I remeber correctly, IIRC, but I paid 36 IIRC. PM mrzeee and let him know what you are looking for. Contact info is in my signature below.

Just out of curiosity... does the LS have a readout for altitude? Reason I ask is I had a MAF go bad, way out of calibration and it brought all sorts of strange driveability problems. The only giveaway was the altitude reading from the computer. Since it didn't have a separate barometric pressure sensor, it somehow derived this from the MAF. I live in PA, and my altitude is like 2500 FASL, well it read like 6800 FASL, which made sense why it was running lean. I poped a new MAF in it, ran like a new car, and all the problems went away.

Noah, you should be at like, what, 50 FASL where you live? You may have already looked at this, but if not, it's worth a shot if nothing else is providing results. I thought I read in a post somewhere else that you cleaned your MAF... This might be the culprit.

how did you read the barometric pressure? I am guessing you have a scan tool.

My friend had one, yes... but the trick was the car didn't have the sensor directly, it did a calculation, and went from there.
