Looking to get a set of Cadence 6.5" comps for the f+r. The mids have a depth of 3". Will it clear? And if not, how thick should i make the mdf ring? 3/8,1/2 ect. What aftermarket speakers/adapter plates are you guys running in the doors? I allready have a set of the thin plastic 5x7 to 6.5" adapters from a past install i could use.

Could you guys atleast tell me what comps you have so i can look it up. And iwhat size spacers you used.

I'm sure they'll fit as its prob only 1/4-3/8ths bigger then the majority of 6.5's but i'd still like some assurence.

Interested to know this as well. The stock JBL system will soon hit the trash.

Not sure, but my Kappa 60.9cs components clear. Their mounting depth is listed at 2.5," and I seem to remember that there was plenty of clearance behind them, but it's been awhile since I installed them.

My Kickers are 3.4" and they clear in the doors. They have a pretty good sized magnet on the back. Don't know if there is any space difference between Gen I and Gen II door insides.

i have some 6.5 alpine type x componets up front with a plastic adapter and they fit fine. mounting depth was 3"

i have some infinity kappa in the rear that fit fine

I like the stock system(w/indash cd) if you have a decent sub stage. But with the loc i'm using my subs sound like complete ass. And the fact that the rear mids are starting to crackle. Thats my fault though.

I have installed Dynaudio 7" in the doors before with no problems. I dont think there is a 6.5 out there that is too deep for our doors.

Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but was wondering if you guys just use the lower position for everything or if you put mids-tweets in the stock tweeter location.

I'm going to use the 2 stock locations for mine. If i didn't plan on going that route i wouda just got 2 ways. Either way would be fine though i'm sure.

I put my tweets in the stock spots. i really like them there and when i roll the windows up the way the sound bounces off them is just amazing it really sets up the sound staging

on a side note. Hifonics ZXi6.5C 6.5" Component Speaker Kit (Set) Model ZXi6.5C Part No. ZXi6.5C

Size = 6.5"
Type = Component Set
Mounting Depth = 2.44"

these are what i have in my front doors. there was plenty of room left over. as for brackets i dont think i used brackets in the front except for the tweets. which i used thin wood and custom cut a set to mount the tweets into the cup in the stock location.

in the rear i have polk audio db6501

Driver Mounting Depth
Top Mount 2" (5.08cm)
Bottom Mount 2-5/16" (5.87cm)

again i believe i had a more room to play with. also using custom made brackets for everything to fit nicely.

I had the tweets in the stock location for awhile, but then moved them down, they were too overpowering right there aimed at my head and about an inch away.

I have a pdf that I found somewhere that list all depths, speaker sizes, etc. If you want pm me and I'll send it to you. I'm about to start on my stereo so I'm getting info ready myself.
