Done with my Mark...

Sounds like a lot of work when the air ride system goes out. If you do swap to the coils how would you go along deleting the air ride check system from your computer?
- You can cut a wire so you don't get the air ride suspension error. The kit I bought for my 1993 Mark had directions as to where and which wire to cut. Very easy. You do need a bright light (even during the day) to make sure you cut the right wire! :)

I've still got air ride in my 1998, but if any of it starts to go, I think I'm going to go right to the coil conversion. I spent a lot of $$ on my 1993's air ride before I finally gave up and did the coil conversion.

and I never actually got to thank you for your assistance Bill.

THANKS BRO, you really bailed me "and troy" out on that one.

Cant wait til our next "safety meeting"..lol

Twernt nuttin mang. You did allot more work for me. :) And thanks, I really appreciate it. :wrench

I'm assuming I must have asked a stupid question since there were no answers to it....

Anyways, just spent $80 on a car cover and will be putting the Mark away until I can get around to it, gonna look at buying an 04 Lincoln LS today.

No, we were just derailing. Yeah, water in that box is bad and if the blower was slinging water on it then it will die pretty easily. Thats what happened with the one Tommy and I were helping with. Computer got wet and died.

not really its easy to diagnose if you dont over think it and a very simple system in comparison to some of fords newer crap.l ive played a good amount with the stock system and im happy with the results, could always be better

glad to hear you are keeping it, and kid it would be a race, and im alot closer

It all boils down to I love my Mark. I have driven alot of different luxury cars in my life and hands down this is my all time favorite. I went back and forth on the coil conversion, but like I said, If I wanted a thunderbird I would have bought one. I've had the car just over 2 years now and have done

Blend Door
COPs and Boots
Air Bags, Solenoids, Relay, Compressor
Shocks
JMod
pads and rotors
Caliper brackets
Wheel Bearings
Control Arms
Tie Rods
Strut Rod bushings
and other little odds and ends. Over all it really wasn't expensive in my opinion vs. a car payment. I still have a long way to go to make it look even close to most of the Marks I see on here. Needs TLC, needs a ballast, front right fender (thanks to a ball joint popping), drivers seat control trim and heating elements, passenger mirror is there but needs replaced, headlights are cloudy and the Octastars need a good polishing and she could use new paint too but other than that she is complete and unique and all mine. =)

I don't want to sell her, but if it comes down to it and I need the cash for a new car, I know a 98 Black/Black LSC would go to a good home on this site. Thanks for all the help and hopefully when we crawl out of the below zero temps here in Chicagoland, I might be able to get back to it.

Well, here's a quick update on my air ride. The front end is completely down with the added bonus of a flat tire in front as well. I aired that up and disconnected the battery. I went back out a couple hours later to get something out of the car and decided to try again. So I hooked the battery up and got in and turned the key, the compressor came on and started to pump, but the front end did not lift at all. The back end was up already anyways, so this points me to a leak somewhere between the dryer and the struts in front I would guess. I'm hoping that when I pulled the air lines out to replace the compressor that I got them put back all the way, but maybe not. The compressor runs normal upon turning on the key and runs for what used to be the normal cycle, but the front end does not air up and I now get no "Check Air Ride" error.

Any suggestions? I got the new computer in the mail last night so I am going to throw that in after work today.

Put your new computer in first. Disconnect the battery when plugging it up and have the air ride switch off. Once it's in, connect the battery, turn on the air ride switch and then cycle the air ride. If it's slammed, it may take two cycles for it to come all the way up but one should do it.

The computer could be causing solenoids to be leaking / opening and doing other crazy things. I'm not saying you don't have a leak but with all you have put into it, it would be hard for me to think that you do have a leak.

The Mark is the only car I have and it's a bit cold to bring out the Harley here in Chicago. I figured I could buy a nice daily driver and really spend time perfecting the Mark over the next couple of months. =)
