hi guys has anyone ever come across when stepping on yhe brakes oe even just decelerating the dome light comes on? Also when driving down the road the door locks keep trying to lock even after they are locked whats causing this?

Sounds like you have a bad door sensor or at least a sticking one. Spray some WD40 in the door latches. Also turn off your auto lock feature cause thats just annoying. The doors lock and unlock cause the car thinks the door was opened and it unlocks itself to keep from locking the keys inside but then it sees the car is going over 5mph so it tries to lock them again.

You do it using your keypad. Disable it! It's in your manual.

Open the trunk, look on the hinge to the right and see if there is a white sticker there with 5 digits on it.

To deactivate the autolock system:
1. Enter your permanent five-digit entry code.
2. Within 5 seconds, press and hold 7/8
3. Within 5 seconds, press and release 3/4
4. Release 7/8
Repeat those steps to reactivate.

Vehicle settings button, then scroll to auto lock and turn it off.
How do you turn off the reverse mirror drop on a first gen? Cycle the ignition 12 times and then do the chicken dance around the car? :lol:

Laser, the real PITA is when you have to put large sums of money into a Gen 2 so it can be as fast as a Gen 1.

And I forgot, you dont have the mirror drop to help backing up. Oh well, at least you have a power tilt/telescop steering wheel.

No, I don't have the other two problem prone unnecessary options in my 95. I never tilt my wheel and I swear to this. The day I need my mirror to drop for backing up is the day I need to quit driving. Don't forget that 93 PCM's can be put into any Gen 1 except the 96... now lemme lone lol
