Thanks.

Its just your basic engine paint from any old parts store.

Dupli-color engine enamel to be exact, the 500degree stuff. The prep is what makes it look good really...that and I've done quit a few things with this paint over the years so you get pretty good at how to lay it on.

Sand away.

Shaped the bondo with 80, then 120...prepped most of the tube with that. Few coats of primer more 120, then 150...more primer. Wet sanded 400...primed and said F**k it good enough. 3 coats of Blue.

Looks really good! At first when you started I wasn't too sure about that color blue.... But now after seeing it all go together it looks super sharp!

Great job!

New game plan. As some of you read in other threads regarding this I have come to the conclusion that my timing chains allowed my cams to go out of time during initial start up attempt. This can be checked with the front cover removal, but I really need to check for internal damage sooo....

Engine is coming out, this will allow several things to be done.
-Tearing the engine apart will be easier.
-Possible short block rebuild, needed or not, engine already out.
-Oil pan can be removed, cleaned up, painted(blue of coarse) and gasketed, it has a pretty nasty rust spot and of course nothing would piss me off more than having it start leaking next year.
-Reassemble will be easier.
-Good time to throw in a torque converter, higher stall of course.
-Good time to throw in headers.
-Of coarse I'll be able to clean all the spots I couldn't with the engine in, and maybe paint a few more things.

My brand new heads are on the way, I'm not possitive mine are damaged but for the price I got them for why not. Not to mention when I had my intake off a few years back it bothered me how much crap was built up on the secondary intake valves. Haunted me even since, this has to hinder flow abit.

I'm toying with mild cams. I just really like the idea since so few have done it. I know the bang for the buck isn't good but few things are on this car and motor.

I've got to get some remodeling done in the house this winter so this is going to take the back seat to that, but I'll fit it in here and there. My garage is attached and heated:D :D. And will be Air conditioned next summer:D :D :D.

Input on the cam idea????

Decided to tinker with it this weekend and decide once and for all what I'm doing. The above plan to pull, stall, header and cam was soured by the new heads I bought showing up at my house destroyed. I decided to just fix, at least for now. It has been sitting for over 2 months and so I started with a fresh compression test. To my surprize #2 had some. Rewind 2+months, it had 25psi in the initial test and while a few others were low, they came up after some cranking to were only #2 was a issue. At one point it had 0psi, none at all. I oiled the cylinder and cranked a few times back then and pressure would jump up only to drop right back off after the first couple rotations, useally falling off to 40-50. All plugs out so you can here the pressure build against the compressin tester then go away. So when I went out there yesterday to get nearly 100psi immediately I was a little confused, it did fall off some but not like in the past and I didn't provoke with oil, it was right off the bat making more psi. I decided to start from sratch and test all again and all were consistent enough for a cold sitting motor with #2 just being weaker than others. I decided to oil it a few more times figuring if crap had gotten onto the exhaust valves, most likely as they are below the spark plug hole, the oil may force the crap off the seat. Worth a try before pulling it and tearing down. Did it a few times and compression would jump up and stabilize right in line with the others. I couldn't really believe it. I stepped away several times and rechecked, it wasn't dropping anymore. I checked it probably 15 times. Decided to throw it together and see what happens. Ran a little uneven at first but ran fair considering, smoothed right out and runs smooth now. Go figure. I must of had a greasy gob on a exhaust valve and forced it out with oil. Drove it around abit too, seems normal. Not going to get to excited yet, but I'm going to finish putting it back together and drive it some so long as the weather holds out.

kick ass!!!!!!!!!! i knew it didnt jump time and smack a valve, i figured it was either a stuck ring or a prob that you introduced into the sys (sorry but true) it blew out a plug, not indicating a lack of comp and after the repair #2 was dead, but its good to hear its alive again, and now you can stop being mad at it :)
