Daytime Running Lamps?

Ok I've tried several times to get these to work and I can't figure it out. According to the manual the lights must be in the off position and then turn on the high beams and this should make the daytime running lamps work.

I don't even really care to use them, I just want to see how they look.

Not all LS's have them. I believe it was only canadian models that had them. Joe will correct me if I'm wrong tho.

You have to go to a dealer to have the DRL feature programmed to be on. Turning the high beams on does not turn the DRLs on. I'm not sure where you got that. Once you LS is programmed to have DRLs, the only ways to turn them off are to turn the headlights on, or set the parking brake.

IIRC, U.S. dealers aren't able to turn them on. They were a Canadian only thing.

Get umnitza angel eyes and wire them into the parking lights. Ride with parking lights on. Throw HID's in the fogs. Done. Better than any DRL

DRL look dumb, angle eyes on the other hand do not.

I would think that it would be better to wire them so that they are on anytime the key is in the run position, then you could still use autolamp and wouldn't have to turn the parking lights on and off. (I also think that parking lights should only be used when parked, but that's another rant.)

Sounds good too.
Even before I got the eyes I always had my fogs on day or night, and the parking lights have to be on for that too so mine are pretty much on all the time. Never got into the habit of using the autolamp feature.

When II first saw them on Alax's car I had a set of Oracle angel eyes new in the box waiting to be installed. Needless to say, plans changed and I got the Umnitzas. It is definitely one of the best things we can do to our cars.
