Custom Exhaust

The above muffler looks a bit "ricer" so it may gave more a buzz rather than a growl. There a ton of pics of exhaust setups in this thread.

HAS ANYONE WITH CUSTOM CAT-BACK EXHAUST HAD PROBLEMS WITH BACK PRESSURE, HIGH IDLE, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT? PARTICULARLY IN THE WINTER?
Can't say because I have the MagnaFlow. It shouldn't have anything to do with what you mentioned. IMO.

For anyone interested, I do custom exhaust. It is done in Northern NJ (Ramsey), I will be doing my LS shortly in 2 1/2 with x-pipe and magnaflows. I can do exhaust in Polished stainless or regular aluminized. Contact me if need exhaust. I will post pics of the LS when done, also I have pics of MArk VII's and VIII's I have done

Nick - What year is your LS ? And do you plan on dyno-ing it or G-Tech-ing it before and after ?

My car is a 2002. I have a g-tech, maybe I will do that. As for dyno, maybe after the cold air intake, exhaust and sct tuner to get the most out of it. That will probably be it, I will be happy if I get up to the 2003 up HP I guess.

I beat mine, if driving it hard (read: "fun") is considered beating it. It's not as fun as my SVT Focus but it's still fun. Will have the Mina exhaust on this week (by 10 may, it's laying there in it's polished glory on my living room floor) and am past anxious to see and hear it.....

Rear wilwood parking brake kit upgrade with 13X1.1" rotors next......

Heee Heee Heee.

It's going on the car in the morning, getting a bit fired up about it....looks better in the flesh than the pic at the link below.... The detailing and quality of workmanship is very high, as would be expected of something made in the UK for Jags. Coming from across the Atlantic it's a little pricey, but still $100 less than the Remus, and about $1,500 less than having a Bassani made by a local shop......and yes, probably about $500 more than the magnaflow.......big deal.

Pics will be posted before the weekend on the install.

That is a nice looking setup and the price is not that bad. Yeah alittle more than a Magnaflow setup would cost but very nice looking still.

Mina Installed

Got the Mina exhaust installed today, results are not really able to be captured on a video/sound clip, the tires make too much noise in drive bys, and the intake makes too much noise to isolate the exhaust from inside the car. Needless to say it's not too loud and I need to remove the resonators to liven them up more. I can finally hear the exhaust from inside the car now though and that's from start up, it's nice mellow rumble at idle and just gets better from there as the rev's build. To say it's giving more seat of the pants HP is hard to say, I was recording and only went on the photo shoot drive so far so I need a chance to drive just to drive. It isn't as noticeable as the K&N CAI but time will only tell.

The install wasn't as a direct bolt on as hoped, the rear hangar from inside the rear bumper needed to be lowered to line up (but was pretty easy) with the rear mount off the tip and the angles of the pipes were off slightly (not sure if that's due to it being for a Jag or due to manufacturing inaccuracy?) but the 'y' shape to the pipes coming out of the resonators had to be spread slightly to line up but otherwise overall fitment was ok from the Jag to the Lincoln.

So they're that bad.......? So far the only comment is about the tips being too big (OMG they're 4"!!!)......and they fit in the openings......I guess I need that part explained to me.

As far as the conflict goes, have fun. I love the exhaust. It was worth the wait.

Another viable option is out there and hereby confirmed......

Both sides sit inside the openings the same. It's just the angle makes the drivers side look different than the passengers.....

So, what about before and after dyno runs? :-) Also, did you change your tune any to take advantage of the freer flowing exhaust?
