Well, its quite simple. While my stepfather had a 2002 Lightning I noticed that the cruise control buttons are basically identical except the Lightning buttons have are made of soft rubber & are sealed as opposed to the Mark buttons that have those plastic top caps that always break hence the reason I'm looking for a set. However I wanted to know if they will work on our Marks. Is the wiring any different? Does anyone know?

See below:

1st set is the Mark VIII set, 2nd set is the Lightning set.

Not sure how you will mount them. You may have luck switching just the buttons. Not sure. Since a new set is only $20, I dont think may tried switching with another vehicle.

haha.... I actually do not use my cruise control often enough. But when I do,
it always seems to happen at night.

Was thinking of swaping over my std non-lighted cruise control switch of my '94 to a
lighted set off another Gen2.

I dont think that will work. There are extra wires involved that the 94 will be missing.

i've been thinking of doing the same thing.

no big deal. wiring like that would be easy to power up the lights.

The lightning switches don't have any wires, the harness plugs into them.

Give it a try, would love to see if it can be done. So far no one has. You will have to replace the clock spring and well as add some wires in the stalk. You may be able to pull power from somewhere else, just make sure it not airbag related. Press set and BOOM! :) Also if you do find some place to pull lighting power, it wont dim with the rest of the lights. For most, no big deal.

Just with those words I wouldn't risk it for something so minuscule. Think about it. If by now you don't know by heart what your buttons do then go buy another car. If you just want it for pretty? I don't think it's worth it.
