State of Confusion
anybody know if the coyote will bolt to the tranny, maybe different bellhousing, and motormounts? different location? godfather came upon a totaled new 5.0, might get as gift dont have a whole lot of $ for the work, but ill sit on it until i do. obviosly all accessories will have to go with it. how much different is it besides the cubes? are the dohc heads exhaust ports the same,?

anyway..

"Engine mount bosses and bellhousing mount pattern common to 4.6L modular engines."

from the ford racing website.

The 5.4 is not the best in bore vs stroke. The bore is same as the 4.6 3.552 but the stroke is huge at 4.165. The small bore cannot fit big enough valves in there to supply the stroke. The saleen 3.800 stroke cranks they found they where not getting good gains on the stock bore. Not saying 5.4s are crap just boarded watching UFC.

well when you run a SC and TT it makes a big difference. lol.

deff wouldnt just throw a NA 5.4 in one, gotta make sure its got some kinda forced induction on it.

Ive looked into this myself and while it can be done its a good chance the car will lose some of its functions. Just minor stuff like speed lowering and all the center console stuff. Have to make the computers work in tandem. You cant just take the Mustangs computer and slap it in cause it wont control all the Mark specific stuff. Ford sells a drivetrain only PCM for $2000. Not sure if it includes the harness. You would have to keep the Marks computer to run everything else. Chances are for it to work right you would also need the current trans cause I dont know how the 4r70 will react to not seeing a running engine since it will still be using the stock computer.

The Marks computer wont really run the Coyote due to the computerized cam control and the few extra sensors the new motor has.
I guess if you eliminate the variable cams and fit the Marks various sensors then you may be able to get away with using the Marks ECU.

Thats freakin crazy. You can buy a complete Top of line everything 632CI 1000+ hp bbc for that.

yea but who wants a pushrod!?

hope i can find a used shelby 5.4 in a couple years, would love to drop one in the mark and a set of turbos and take a stab at the texas mile, would love to hit 200+!!!
