Couldn't of happened at a worse time

that's called 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'.

If it can be fixed without replacing/throwing parts at it, they last pretty long and are part of the allure of the Mark-but a basket case, or a beat daily driver, you'd have to think all bets are off.

Precisely why I don't drive a basket case, and I have another car as a daily;)
The only car I ever converted to coils was an '90 Continental that had 80K miles and was slammed, but I only paid $200 for it and bought it for resale.

well said and i agree wholeheartedly.

i almost let my friend convert his car, had the air ride computer not solved the problem it would have been converted

but he did his due diligence and didn't wuss out at the first air ride error and convert to coils, as ive seen many do

a basket case air ride issue, with probable wiring issues..agree'd conversion is an option.

but i'm a decent mechanic and i dont wuss out when the going gets tough.
i'd rather REPAIR than put tbird struts on my car

in the end its up to the owner, and their budget.
nobody can make that decision except the owner of the car themselves.

the whole "AIR RIDE IS NOT DEPENDABLE" BS is just that....BS

Both of my front bags are shot, and now my compressor went out.

$150 x 2 + $190 = $490+s/h
coil conversion = $389+s/h

It all comes down to a good financial decision. If I replace the bags and compressor, it still leaves me with multiple parts in the suspension that can go bad. Doing a coil conversion is the best financial decision.

I went with coils and struts because my compressor failed, both front bags were shot, driver side ride height sensor was broke and i had just replaced the valve in the drivers side strut......it was a more cost effictive thing for me to do since i didnt have the extra cash to dump into fixing the air ride. After i converted to coils i also found out one of the lines was cracked and both rear bags had been over inflated for quite sometime and had lumps in them. Since i converted i havent had 1 single day of regret and the ride and stance is just what i wanted.

+1

I bought my mark with the air system shot, I Replaced front bags with some from the wrecking yard to get me by till I fixed it the right way, I also bought a new used compressor all for 40 bucks, Long story short two weeks later I converted to coils with a 2" Drop from a friend of mine that had wrecked his Mark and Honestly I agree with laser they ride better than the bags, I am in the process of moving to my new house and once I do that I'm replacing the shocks in front and rear with the Tokico ones I bought from laser. The car Handles way better too. I wont go back to air.

Here is a picture of the stance with coils.
