I was heading home from Denver on the highway and was baited. For once I was the innocent party and minding my own business.

I had a Chrysler 300c (340hp) riding my ass, and driving aggressively through traffic. After a few miles of traffic, it started to break. I managed to hit an open lane and shoot past the people doing 10mph under the posted. Guess who wound up behind me, the 300c.

He was on my tail for awhile since we hit a construction zone of 55mph. Wound up hitting a nice opening in traffic and shot back up to 80mph in the 75mph zone. I notice the 300c coming up fast, and I knew he was going to pull a flyby on me.

I mashed the gas, and it dropped into gear just as he was at my door. He got even with me when I surprisingly started pulling on him...hard. I didn't think I would pull 1 1/2 cars on him, and counting. Let off around 100mph since I could see tailights of traffic about 1/2 mile up.

He slid back behind me, and stayed behind me for the next 30 miles. :lol:He had a couple opportunities to try it again, but didn't even make an attempt. Guess he figured it would be a waste of time.

I got to get going on mods. :D

nice at first when you said you were the innocent party I thought you started messing around with a cop and got a ticket

It could have been a 250 HP V-6 ;)

I know it wasn't a 6, since it sure sounded like an 8 with the exhaust note.

Question is, how hard is it to make a V-6 sound like a V-8 nowadays?

I'm not calling you a liar by any means, but you have to consider HP/Wt ratios, gear ratios, and the like.

Could it have been a V8? Possibly. Is it probable? No.

Either way, nice going shutting that moron down.

Fairly sure it was an 8, figured the extra weight (think they are 4200lbs ish), and forgot to mention the 22's or whatever he was running helped slow him down.

If it was a 6, then it wasn't as fun.

I shut down a Chrger R/T or 300C down once a week. They are always very suprised when it happens. They would have me from a stop to 30 or 40 but if its a roll race then they are done for unless its over 120 cause they still pull better on the top end.

Nice kill anyway. Nice to post it in a forum that wont lock the thread after everyone bashes you aint it? :D

This was from about 75mph to just under 100mph or so. I know they are decent. My brother drove my car, and said he thinks his Charger R/T can take it, which I could see since he a programmer on it....So I am not going to mention when when I get a tune and gears...all's fair in war, right? ;)

It is nice to post this in a place that doesn't have a bunch of people going off on a tangent. Yeah it is bad, but who hasn't, and we were safe. We had about a mile of running room before any cars were close enough for us to pose a threat.

haha nice! has anyone raced a 95-96 impala ss yet? my buddy got one for getting honour roll.... in grade 9... go figure. so i plan to race him one of these days, but back to the question, any predictions? his car has the ls1 or something..?

LT1 rated at 260hp. They are pigs and have gears like us. You should take him, I took a couple out in my T-Bird and it was about the same power level as a Mark....until I opened my bottle.

I ve raced Chargers at the track and is't a close run. If I remember right they are turning high mph than me.. I leave them at the start and they cann't catch back up. I don't think my car would pull on a hemi car at those speeds. But maybe my mark is just slow like that.HAHA

SS impalas Are another good race. My friends thats in my sig is a very good race on the street. From a roll The cars are very close but I do pull alittle on it. At the track very different story I get the SS by 1.25 second or better.

My brother has a r/t charger. from a dead stop he can beat me up to about 35-40 mph by ill catch him by 50 and pull a lil then we would be neck and neck til about 100 (when i usually let off)

oh nice, i wont tell him this sh!t, he thinks hes gonna blow me out the water but now that ive read this stuff im gonna have a good laugh when i see him in my rear veiw mirror

Actually it is impossible to make a v6 sound like an 8, like the saying goes there is no replacement for displacement. The only way you could do that would be to add two more cylinders. I've been trying to make an 01 monte sound like a v8 for 3 years, trust me it's impossible.

Quoting system... eludes you. :p

Actually it is impossible to make a v6 sound like an 8,

Impossible? No such thing.

like the saying goes there is no replacement for displacement.

Uhhh. Yeah.. there is. It's called CFM.

There's your first problem. It's a Monte Carlo. HAHA.

Nothing is impossible with the right amount of time and money.

Yes the quote system does elude me, and I have been trying to do it with pipe and mufflers not an externally mounted speaker, but yes the fact that it is afront drive v6 makes my biggest issue with dual routing nothing I can do with the over the tranny pipe. And correct with enough $$$$$$$ I could do anything but we are just poor rednecks with a bender and a welder only a few $.....$....$....$ not $$$$$$$$$$$'s.
